I have 15" gaming laptop that weighs about 5 lbs and I have it placed standing almost completely vertical on this stand. So far the stand seems to be quite sturdy and stable... I will say though, if you're like me, you have to be careful if you're going to position your laptop at a very steep angle... because if you're laptop is not thin and IS heavy, then the rubber pads on the edge that's designed to catch the laptop might not be enough to keep it from slipping off the stand. However, if you're going to put the laptop on there at a more modest angle, I think you should be just fine! When viewing these online, I wondered how the hinges adjusted. The hinges are very stiff. You simply pull the areas apart that you want to move until you reach the desired position. For me, this is fine because I plan to leave it in position where I need it. However, I can imagine that over time the hinges would loosen up over time if you are folding and unfolding this to relocate to different areas. I can say that out of the box, this is well made and sturdy. It has no slip pads on the bottom that meet the table top and pads on the device plate to prevent it from slidding while in use. Overall, this product will do exactly what is intended and I believe will last over time if not frequestnly adjusted. Very happy with my purchase. Read more
