When I first took this sweater out of the package, I was disappointed. It looked way too 'cropped' for my liking and like it would provide a bulky, ballooned out effect. I nearly decided to throw this in the gift pile to give to a younger family member. Thankfully, I tried it on to determine how accurate the sizing was for this review. It has quickly become one of my favorite sweaters! I carry a bit of weight in my belly section, so I tend to stay away from overly cropped tops. Somehow, this sweater manages to completely camouflage the parts of my waistline I dislike. It is just long enough to cover everything. It's actually more effective at camouflaging that area than longer tops are. I think I might have been concealing my flaws incorrectly all along- maybe I need more cropped style tops after seeing how this sweater detracts from them much better than longer shirts. I feel stylish and less matronly in this trendy sweater. I wore this to a doctor's appointment one day- the nurse taking my stats did a double take when I told her I am 47 and told me I don't look anywhere near my age! I then wore it another day while out and about, running into an old acquaintance from high school, getting another compliment about how I "don't look our age" and asked how I manage to still look so good! I was blown away. I guess I've been choosing comfort and function over fashion a bit too over zealously! Despite this sweater being fashionable and attractive, it's super soft and comfortable. So I don't need to sacrifice comfort to look good and feel good! Weird how one sweater can completely change how I shop for clothing articles moving forward. I'm 5'6", 147 lbs with a little extra weight in my midsection and a small 36B bust. Medium fits me perfectly. The cropped hem sits about an inch or two over midrise jeans and doesn't ride or lift up to expose any skin. The pearl accents detract from my small bust and add a bit of bulk there to balance out my less than slender waist. This sweater can be worn dressy or casual. I paired it with some holey distressed jeans for a more casual look and with a pair of dressier ponte leggings for a dressier, sophisticated look. I wash it in a garment bag with a regular load of like colored laundry, hang it to dry to preserve the fabric and pearls. So far, after three washes, no pilling, mishaping or damage to the sweater. I adore this sweater!! It fits true to size- I am normally a medium. It can definitely be dressed up for work but also cute with jeans. The pearl details are so pretty and it looks more expensive than it is. I have worn it a few times already and it has been through the washer and dryer without issue. This pearl-embellished sweater is super cute in person and looks just like the photos. The design is subtle yet elegant, adding just the right amount of detail without feeling overdone. It instantly elevates any outfit, whether you pair it with jeans, trousers, or a skirt. I was initially worried the pearls might be glued on, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they’re actually bolted on securely (you can see this in image 3). That means this sweater should hold up well in the wash which is a big plus for longevity. My only small concern is whether the pearl coating will start to flake over time, but as of now, that hasn’t been an issue. One major note: do not rely on the size chart in the listing. It’s confusing and inconsistent. The photo size chart suggested I should order an XS for my 40-inch bust, while the printed one in the description said XXL. That's a huge difference! I went with my usual Amazon size (a Large), and it fit perfectly. So, order your regular size, not what the chart says. The fabric is soft, lightweight, and not scratchy at all. It feels quality, comfortable enough for all-day wear, and looks refined enough for work or dinner. Overall, this is a lovely, timeless piece that feels elegant, comfortable, and well made. I found the fit to be too boxy (about 2 sizes too large, I'd have to take the XS in by 6-8inches) and the sleeves are too short. With a hand raised, the sleeve is 5 inches from my wrist. This should probably be worn with the sleeves rolled if you are on the taller side. And I would recommend sizing down. Also, the pearl lines are slightly crooked/ off center. The material is scratchy and not very soft. It is a thin, lightweight sweater, better for cool than cold weather. Read more
