Listen. I want to love this. I do. I love French Connection. I love the rusty brown color. But something feels off, and I can't really put my finger on it. The skirt looks just like it does in the pictures.... except it also doesn't. I'm 5'7" not tall, but not short either, and like other reviews have pointed out, this isn't a midi skirt. This is a weird liturgical dance length - not midi, not maxi. It's a very unsexy midpoint just under the calf. The fabric is weirdly thick and cheap feeling. It sticks straight out and doesn't flow the way other skirts with silkier fabrics do. I guess the silver lining is that it's not sheer and hides panty lines. The thicker fabric also means it doesn't pucker around my thighs/crotch area the way thinner fabrics do. It fits true to size without gaping around the waist. It's fine. It's just fine. I haven't worn it because I don't hate it, but I just can't make it work when I try to wear it. Read more

French Connection is a brand that I have found some great wardrobe additions that are always stylish, and designed well at a lower price point than I am accustomed to paying for my designer pieces. Because of my great experiences over the years with French Connection, I felt confident in ordering this skirt when I would prefer silk, and it did not disappoint. This skirt flows well, and a huge factor that was a positive for my picky taste is the elastic in the waistband. This changes the game for skirts in this style. It is more comfortable. It has a zipper closure , but I sized up because French Connection runs small in some styles (not all), and I wanted a more loose-fitting skirt with this fabric, so I can put this on without unzipping it. I could have ordered my usual size Small, but I love the fit of the Medium as well. I ordered the brown, and it is rich and luxurious, and will be great for the season — it never gets very cold where I live, and this skirt is not as thin as similar skirts. This is a staple that will be great to have in your closet. I ordered the “pink” one after I wore the brown skirt, and I already received it. It is not pink to me - it might even be described as “apricot”, or “light champagne”, or… neutral perhaps! It does have a faint hint of a VERY light pink hue, if you analyze it like I have. LOl. The good thing is that it will look great with any color you style it with. Overall, this is a smart addition to your wardrobe, and it is easy to care for! I love this high waisted midi skirt! It is easy to maintain and spot clean as needed. I’ve used steamer to get the wrinkles out easily. I would recommend wearing light color undergarment it is little see through. It fits true to size! Read more
The color is exactly as described, and the fit is true to size. The photo shows the skirt as mid-calf length, but on me (5’1”), it fits more like a maxi, so taller buyers may find it closer to the pictured length.
