This is the second Frigidaire Gallery air conditioner that I bought. While the app is definitely very quirky the unit itself is great. It’s much quieter than the old unit it is replacing, even on its highest setting, and this unit is twice as powerful. I pretty much always keep the Frigidaire on Eco mode and Auto fan and this unit regulates the temperature perfectly. The default setting is 72 degrees, on hot days I drop it down to 71 and it is super chilly. The remote takes care of basic functions, while the app gives you full control by creating “tasks” which controls what time and day you want to turn the unit on and off. If you want to turn the unit on remotely you can do that from the app and adjust any settings as well. The app has some quirks like naming the AC when you have 2 units, and sometimes turning off a task says it failed when it actually worked. None of those are everyday functions though, so it doesn’t matter that much. The everyday functions are fine. The unit is quiet, especially if you set the fan to low, you don’t hear it. I was originally on the fence between this unit and a Windmill inverter unit until my mom got the Windmill. The Frigidaire gets much colder, is quieter and seems to control the temperature better than the Windmill without fussing. The Windmill needed more adjusting. I also love how well it integrates with Alexa! Read more

early review may update later, 78 degrees home AC off all day came home to this temp, turned unit on in evening ran approximately under 2 hrs already down to 73 and climbing down. 10kbtu inverter. This Thing is quiet, powerful and beautiful. So far I've tried ig on eco mode which is even more energy saver as far as I know, I put it on Max cool just to do it see how it performance, I find the coldest air balance is best at medium fan speed I guess this makes sense in how acs work. So happy with this purchase best AC unit I've ever bought, I will update in hotter weather. I'm thinking this unit will keep working good, remote works good and touch screen works excellent, couldn't connect to WiFi but was using a mobile hotspot so may try something later with that. The AC is quiet did I mention that, soft starts compressor is sooo smooth as is the overall running it's just Super good. Am going to plug into watt meter later on go see some numbers. Would definitely recommend and buy again. Fridgidaire for the Win. Read more

I am amending my review of this product to one star. Here's why-- I purchased this air conditioner a year and a half ago. The AC unit was fine, everything worked and, as advertised, it was very quiet. So this year, I purchased a second unit, the exact same 10,000btu Gallery model. I got it direct from the manufacturer because some had complained that Amazon's exchange/refunds were difficult, so I figured I'd deal directly with the manufacturer. After installing the new unit in a window, my first discovery was that they made the remote control for it more cheaply/poorly than the model from a year before ...and it didn't work. I doesn't make proper contact with the battery but, unlike the original remote that used a AAA battery, these contacts are now in a very thin, one-piece plastic sleeve that uses watch-style battery so the contacts aren't accessible. Then, when I turned the unit on, it made a loud, annoying, intermittent vibrating noise, even on the lowest fan setting. Despite running the unit for a while, the loud vibration/rattling has continued. I sounds like the fan is loose. Since I own another unit, I know that this noise is not normal and my entire reason for buying this air conditioner was that it was advertised as (and earlier version was) quiet. So my wife and I attempted to get it fixed or replaced. We've spent a full day (over 8 hours) on the phone or internet with Frigidaire (which is now owned by Electrolux) and they are stone-walling us and giving us the run-around. This includes endless time on hold, being passed from department to department, "This must be the fault of the shipper, so you should contact them", everything imaginable. So, be warned, if you buy anything from Frigidaire, you may or may not get a working machine and they don't guarantee their products and will seek to screw you over. I am this close to flinging it off a cliff and getting an AC unit from another manufacturer. I will never buy a Frigidaire or Electrolux appliance again. Here's my old review for the first unit ...but you may or may not get one like this and, if it's not working correctly, you're screwed-- It's a quiet air conditioner when it's on low fan "eco" mode ...and it does a good job of cooling down a big room. As other commenters stated, the controls on the machine itself are hard to use as they are white on white and only light up when you touch or change them. The remote is much easier to use, so that's how I control it. My only complaint is that it's kinda cheaply built. The flanges that fit into a window (to seal it off) are made entirely of plastic and are too shallow to get a good seal without putting screws in your window frame. My old air conditioner had metal edges around the flanges that set more snugly and deeply into the window channels. There's also a lot of other plastic parts on this machine such that I question its longevity. But it's quiet and more efficient than older air conditioners. Read more

This new Frigidaire is so quite, you barely hear it, even on high. It cooled my 300 sq ft shop with 16’ ceilings very well. A fantastic surprise, is how well it dehumidifies. I’ve had to run an expensive standalone commercial dehumidifier to keep tools from rusting. After running this a/c unit for 2 days, the dehumidifier was dry; the a/c was totally taking care of that issue. The dehumidifier was shut down for the rest of the cooling season. My first electric bill on this unit, which runs 24x7, was $100 less than the old unit. The weather was cooling down and the dehumidifier shut off, but this is still a significant drop on my bill. Another great bonus is the way the vents close and create a solid cover. No more flying bugs coming in through the a/c unit. I’ve not used the remote, so can’t comment on that. My cons are the lights which I wish had an option to stay on. The change settings buzzer could be a much quieter ding or done away with. The filter opening is a tad awkward and needs a better design. However, these are minor concerns for how quite it is. Would recommend to anyone at this time. However, I only used it for about 2 1/2 months in late fall in East Tennessee. I will endeavor to update this next summer when it’s hot every day. If it keeps up the same performance level in the summer of 2022, I will highly recommend it. Read more

May 22, 2024: My new AC works great. Easy to use. The low setting is whisper quiet. I like that the lights on the controls dim after you're done with them. I'm satisfied with my purchase! Read more
