Yes, I like to eat breakfast in bed. The worst is to spill my coffee or juice on my sheet which is a pain to clean up. This is a splendid waterproof matress pad so I no longer have to worry about spillls or other accidents that may occur. I like the quilted top and its also soft to lie on. One of the reasons I bought this style is because it comes in gray color and wont show yellow aging or light stains. I like this mattress cover , i read the reviews , now here's mine . Heavy quilt on the top serves in comfort & absorbency feels almost as soft as the mattress itself . The waterproof under lining looks like it's been quality made , no fraying or splitting covers the entire length completely . The sides are not quilted or waterproof ( they are a stretch mesh ) but if necessary you can cover under the sides of the mattress with a plastic bag for protection and put this mattress cover over them . It will protect your mattress from a short term spill to overnight wetness & didn't have any comfort issues at all , no chemical smell though i did wash & dry it first . Takes about 15 minutes in the dryer , but i found out to check the top quilted part to determine that , ( the waterproof under lining took 15 minutes of high heat with no problem . ) I ordered 1 of these in twin XL to see how well it worked .... as advertised ! Buying a new one for a different bed. We've been using these pads for almost 5 years to protect mattresses used by person(s) who are incontinent. When using these for incontinence; they work, but I would suggest making the bed in layers: the top layer is a fitted sheet, the second is a disposable or washable waterproof pad (3 to 4 long, place at waist level across the bed), then this full mattress cover/pad. These pads are used and washed often (two pads being cycled). They have never leaked, the mattress has never been damaged. We replaced one when the waterproof side was damaged (not the fault of manufacture). The oldest will be 5 years old in a few months These are comfortable to sleep on, there is a layer of padding. There is no noise and the person or patient doesn't sweat against them. They probably won't interfere with a "topper", if you wanted to use it as a "last line of defense" to protect all your mattresses. Read more

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered this for my sofa sleeper and it being made to fit up to a 14" mattress. The reviews helped me stay positive that it was a great buy. Right out of the package, it's soft and flexible, not crinkly like some waterproof covers can be. It went on the 4" mattress nicely but not too snug. It adds a little softness without being too bulky to fold up. I can't say how waterproof it is since I haven't had to test it out yet but will update when I find out for sure.
