Unless you buy it, you will never know how great a simple clipper can be. This product remind all glorious old days of Made in Japan. Unlike many chinese crap, this clip just feel awesome, everything become so easy to clip. Even far better than my old one which was made in korea given by my friend(I used thought that one already the best until I have this one) High recommended, just glorious MIJ superior product. Given the glowing reviews of this product, perhaps my expectations were inflated. To be clear, these are not bad clippers. They are much better than your typical drug store clippers for several reasons: 1. The materials and construction are solid. The metal is thicker and flexes less than cheap clippers, for example. They have more heft in your hand. 2. The little details show some thought was put into the design. The small stud that interfaces with a detente in the body to keep the handle from turning while they are closed, for example. On past clippers I've owned, this has been a pair of ears on the folding nail file; this design is much cleaner looking. At the same time, there are tells that the Japanese "craftsmanship" was stunted while manufacturing these. The biggest disappointment for me are the needlessly misaligned cutting surfaces. There are other reviews out there that point this out (perhaps it's a feature and not a bug? Does it result in keeping the blades sharp longer?) and I can confirm it on my unit. I have no way to evaluate the impact on the cutting performance of the clippers--they cut just fine for me. And perhaps that's the bottom line. They are competent clippers that are clearly an upgrade over the cheap drugstore models I've used in the past--but they aren't magic. Read more

I had a stroke and my right hand does not work properly. I was having a hard time cutting the nails on my left hand. I delayed cutting my nails for as long as possible. I hated it.
