Beautiful Cast Iron Steamer

We live in a rural area, and we mostly heat in the winter with a wood burning stove. If you've ever been around a wood burning stove, you know they can zap every bit of moisture from the air in your house. We usually have humidifiers going, but this works well in addition to those. Old timers would put a pot of water on the stove to release moisture back it the air. This reminds me so much of my grandparents (Appalachian folk). It's just a prettier version of what they used back in the day. It's heavy duty and has a beautiful elegant design on the lid. The inside has a shiny porcelain coating which makes it easy to clean. It has a large capacity and lasts for hours before needing refilled (Tip: never add cold water to a hot cast iron pot, you risk cracking it. Add boiled water) I love adding essential oils and dried fruit peels to the water for a lovely and inviting fragrance throughout the house. This would make a great gift for anyone who uses "old fashioned" heating, or enjoys rustic or rural inspired decor. Overall value 10/10 Highly recommend. Read more
