The media could not be loaded. The colors are very pretty! The height was just taller than expected, so I'm a little worried about it accidentally tipping over and breaking it since I've read from other reviews that the liquid inside is not actually water, but some other strong smelling chemical. It's a great decor piece! The bulbs work with change in weather. I would recommend keeping away from windows though because a friend of mine had hers by the window for a few years and sunlight may have stripped away the color from a few of the bulbs! Read more

I have bought 4 as gifts. EVERYONE has loved it! It is beautiful and does a very good job of detecting temperature. I bought the first one for my 6th grade Science classroom as a way to visually demonstrate density and thermal equilibrium. The administration rant and raved about it so much, I bought 3 more as gifts. The best part is my students actually listened to and participated in the lesson. To get a 6th grader to enjoy and get excited about density and the concept of thermal equilibrium is very impressive! This object made it a joy to teach. I’ve never given a gift (object) that received so much praise and admiration. Each of the recipients had displayed the thermometer prominently in their office and everyone who enters their office does the same. I just ordered a fifth for my daughter, who is very difficult to buy for. She has commented numerous times, “this is one of the best gifts she has ever received.” Again, not an easy person to buy physical object gifts for. The tube and water is crystal clear, the temperature bubbles are beautiful colors, not too loud, but can be read easily. I very rarely write reviews. This is a very attractive Galileo Thermometer. Nothing negative to say about it and the price is very reasonable. My only comment is that it would have been nice to have included some information about the product and handling precautions. Fortunately, I had this information from a previous thermometer that had been broken. Read more
