We purchased the Gardzen Mini Greenhouse Heavy Duty Portable Greenhouse last winter specifically to protect some of our more tender outdoor plants from the unpredictable north Texas cold. We were looking for an affordable solution to help them survive temperatures that often dip below freezing, and this little greenhouse delivered! Assembly was surprisingly easy, with clear and understandable instructions. Setting it up was a breeze. Our primary goal was to keep the plants above freezing, and simply placing a heat lamp inside proved very effective. Throughout the winter, the greenhouse consistently maintained a temperature of around 45 degrees Fahrenheit even when the outside temperatures dropped below 30 degrees. The result? All of our plants successfully overwintered and are now thriving! The quality of the greenhouse was much better than I had anticipated for the price point. It felt sturdy enough to withstand the winter elements, and we were pleased that it was easy to disassemble after the season for convenient storage. We plan to use it again next year, making it a worthwhile investment. The only minor issue we encountered was some slight seam separation when initially stretching the clear tent to fit over the frame. It required a bit of effort, and this resulted in a small area of separation. However, this didn't impact the overall performance or our ability to use the greenhouse effectively. Pros: Easy to assemble with clear instructions. Effectively maintained above-freezing temperatures with the use of a heat lamp, even in sub-30°F conditions. Successfully protected vulnerable plants through a North Texas winter. Good quality for the price. Easy to disassemble and store for reuse. Cons: Minor seam separation occurred when initially stretching the tent over the frame. Overall: The Gardzen Mini Greenhouse proved to be an excellent solution for wintering over our outdoor plants in north Texas. Its ease of assembly, effective temperature regulation, and surprising quality for the price made it a huge success. Despite a minor issue with seam separation during initial setup, the fact that all our plants survived and are now thriving speaks volumes. These mini greenhouses are perfect for me since I use them to protect my fragile plants from freezing rain here in Texas. They are super easy to assemble and easy to store when not in use. I purchased this for a purpose other than a greenhouse. It is currently being used to retain heat in a small area to prevent my water pipes from freezing in my house. For this purpose, it has worked perfectly! The greenhouse was very easy to assemble and took about ten minutes, including the awkward position it is in under my house and over the water pipes. It's very easy to put together. Not much to the directions but it's enough where it's understandable. There could be more ties to attach to the frame itself but the ties that are attached to the plastic outter part are sufficient. Now mine came with 1 tie missing that is attached to the plastic and ties to the frame. I messaged the seller right away and they immediately sent out a whole replacement green house and gave me 30 days to send back the damaged one free of charge. Now I'm not gonna take the entire greenhouse apart now that i have because theres nothing wrong with the frame at all. So I'm keeping the frame part that's already built that I have and just gonna replace the outter plastic part that is missing the 1 tie and just send that back with the brand new frame they sent me. It's keeps my plants safe from the cold nights here in Texas and I highly recommend buying it if you want to keep your outside plants safe from those fridgid cold, windy nights. One side note I wanna give all of you before putting the pipes altogether is to make sure you push all the pipes together snuggly as the directions specified in their directions. That way there's no problem at all with the plastic protector fitting right over the top of the frame. The zippers also are of good quality and I've had no problems what so ever with anything else. And it keeps the plants nice and warm over night. When i open up the panels in the morning it feels like a tropical rain forest inside ;) it's also very roomy inside for all of my green leaf friends. I use this as a tiny sunroom for myself. The model I chose is roomy enough to place an Adirondack chair and small table inside. On sunny winter days I’ve enjoyed sitting there, protected from the winter chill. Sadly the greenhouse cover is NOT made from heavy duty or reinforced materials. Even with my gentle and protective treatment, in less than a month the plastic along the closure zipper stitching broke open, as is mentioned by other reviewers. Too late to return… I will use industrial strength tape to try and make it work, but I am SO disappointed! Read more
