It hit the 100s this weekend and I live in an 85 year old brick house with no return vents on the upper floors. On days like this you could bake bread. This device works great cooling down the room that otherwise would be in the 90s. Easy to set up. Reasonably quiet. I like the remote (so I don't have to get out of bed to adjust). I did some price comparisons and this is a good value. Read more

Everything you need is included to set this up quickly, and it really does cool down the room within minutes. I love that it comes with a remote for convenience, and it’s surprisingly quiet, about the level of a big fan. My office usually stays hot since the window faces the sun all day, but this unit finally made it comfortable enough to stay in all day. This gives me my own cool zone. Definitely a great choice if you’re looking to beat the heat and I highly recommend it. Read more

I would only recommend a portable unit like this where you can't use a more efficient units such as window air conditioner. The instructions could be improved. The vent hose doesn't lock to the air conditioner and it slid off well I was moving it into place. Be sure to check that any time you move it or you might be blowing hot air back into your home. The remote is an IR (infrared) remote. It has a single power button rather then discreet on and off buttons. It may require you to cut the the sliding plastic window installation part to accommodate some window sizes so you may need a saw. It's quieter then many window mounted air conditioners that I've tried. The noise is comparable to a large fan. I couldn't measure the actual BTU but this unit draws 1200 watts of power on high. That's consistent with similar models that typically do 6500-8000 BTU. Read more

Absolutely the best thing I've received to fight the heat in my room. This is very easy to set up and use. It's not overly loud and the cold air that fills my room has me sleeping like a baby now. I no longer have to fight over the main thermostat of the house. This unit comes with an exhaust hose and fittings for the window. The touch controls are responsive and you can choose to have the unit go to fan mode, dehumidifier, or air conditioner mode. The blades that control air flow can only be moved in an up or down direction. Overall, this is a very good unit to keep cool for the summer. Read more
