I purchased this GE portable air conditioner, right before the summer. I have one of them in my apartment works well and it cools down the whole entire place. It’s been keeping my place nice and comfortable, especially during the summer heat waves that we’ve been having. Very easy to set up and comes with everything that you need for install. I also downloaded the app that connects through Wi-Fi to make it easier for me when I wasn’t home to change the temperature or to turn off unit. It’s a little bit louder than a normal window air conditioner unit. The only thing that I wish that it came with is a hose to attach when release the water from the bottom. Read more

Thus was my second one I purchased. First one was thru Lowes. Barely lasted the summer in 2022. Had a terrible time to get reimburse. Many calls, many days, many phone numbers, many different replies to this issue. Finally, to get reimburse I had to purchase a new GE AC in so many days and show my receipt to get a refund from GE. Ok, that was a fluke. Never had a AC die so soon. Always had good luck. Used my funds to buy the same floor model from Amazon late 2022 since it was late in the year and Lowes did not have any floor models. This one lasted the summer months in 2023. Now today, 2024 beginning of the season for AC, the unit dies. Froze over and spits out water. Since its a floor model, its not moved. No issue getting my money back thru Amazon. I will never by a GE again. Terrible ACs and terrible customer service. Now it's back to a store and find a new AC floor model soon. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I knew the compressor would be loud soo it was not suprise, that is the downside with poratble ac units like this. But other that it has been able to cool my room and keep it at a constant 70f. My advice for anyone worrying about the amount of water it produces, get a 5 gallon water jug for camping, I don't have to worry about emptying it that often. One thing I did not account for when getting this unit was closing my window blinds. Specifically windows that open horizontally as it attaches in the middle and since my window blinds are vertical I have to warp them to fit around that hose attachment. The last thing I want to mention is the fact when the compressor starts (the ac is in it's own outlet) it likes to make my battery backup I use to run my network equipment in my office freakout, again this is an isolated incident so you are most likely not going to encouter this. The video demonstrates that. I will update this review as I use this unit proggresively. Read more

Bought the unit in June and it worked great. Started using it as heater a few weeks back, using it only for maybe 2 hours per day. We had the first frost and ran the unit more over the past 2 days. Came in the house this morning and it looked foggy, then I noticed the smell, no heat, and hissing. The unit just leaked all its refrigerant in the house. Had to clear out all pets, open all doors and windows. I have another unit (not GE) for 3 years now and haven’t had an issue Read more

We bought for my daughters house when we visit in Orlando. Mostly the weather is HOT there. This unit really cools down the room upstairs that we stay in. Don't know what we would do with out it. Read more

Great air conditioner. I would give a five star rating if it were a little quieter while running. Read more

Worked great for a little over a year. The plastic exhaust fan (condensor fan) broke waking use in the middle of the night to very loud noise. Emailed GE hopefully for a replacement fan blade. Unfortunately they dont sell internal replacement parts so its now a $600 weight. Read more
