Why did you pick this product vs others?: A name brand you can trust it’s been around for many years and knows what the customer wants. You’re gonna pay more but you’re gonna get a whole lot more. My electric bill has went down $20 a month having this product we run ours from the time we get home from work till we leave in the morning we bought an oversized unit for our bedroom. We put it on low and now we get a great night sleep. Set it to the right settings and you’re going to empty a little bit of water out of the tank once a month. I read a lot of the other products. The main concern was heat coming out of the hose. This product sends a very thick plastic hose. but it sends all of that hot air out the window and not back into the bedroom. If your person that’s never had a fan on at night like my wife it took her about a week to forget about the noise which just sounds like a fan in the room. but once you start enjoying the cooler temperatures and getting a good nights rest, you’ll love it. But if you’re one of those individuals that complain about everything and nothing will ever, please you. Please don’t bother the manufacturer by wasting their time and complaining. LOL Read more

After a horrible first delivery with a severely damaged and opened box that was missing the manual and remote, I sent it back and received another one. After setting it all up, I noticed that it makes a loud moaning sound in heat or cool mode. Worse, it cycles on and off so that you can't even try to get used to it! It was so loud when I tried to sleep with it on that my wife and I turned it off. This unit is in the bedroom. You can hear the loud moaning with the bathroom door shut. You can hear it all the way out in the kitchen. If you can't sleep with it, you can't keep it. We have already Been through a lot returning the first one I will run this for a day or two to see if we can get used to it before our ears give out, or if it quiets down. Super disappointed so far. GE used to be a name that meant something. Apparently not today. Newer technology should mean a new one would be much quieter than ones I have owned in the past. Nope! UPDATE: I returned it, and bought a much less expensive and much quiter Black and Decker 14,000 btu model. Satisfied so far, still waiting for my close to 700 dollar refund from Amazon for the horrible GE branded a/c. Read more

I am pleased with the product and have no affiliation with the manufacturer. Directions and accessories are spot on. I use it in my garage in Texas. Cools the 2 car garage well and I like the small remote. It also has controls on top of the unit. Standard stuff. Noise level is decent. Price paid was fair. I had to vent through a brick sided wall. I dont necessaily like the design of the ac unit. I don't know why the temperature adjust to 20. I dont believe it has a built in temperature monitor, so you dont know how hot it is in the house. The grid part looks like a brick wall design, which I could care less about. The level of noise is high, but not too bad. It's powerful and it gets the house nice and cool. The other portable ac Garvee that I have is really bad like you have to sit next to it to feel cool. I believe its like 8,000 btu. I had it for about 2 years, so finally I have an ac that works. I purchased 2 ac units from Amazon before Garvee and sent them back because it was blowing like a fan and not cooling the place. Read more
