First day, first impression, so far, so good. This computer is screaming fast, snappy, almost silent and works great. The hardware seems very solid. This computer is small but unexpectedly heavy for its size. It fired up and works exactly as expected out of the box. Loaded with input and output ports. Wifi, Bluetooth and HDMI all function perfectly. However... Microsoft sucks! Windows 11 is a complete failure. Its a waste of storage space, designed for profit, advertising, data theft and not at all designed for productivity or functionality. I will be wiping Windows 11 ASAP and running Ubuntu instead. I would love a Linux native OS provided with this computer, or even blank, without an OS. Sending this computer out with Windows 11 is my only complaint and that's fairly easy to fix, so no stars deducted for that. Overall, so far it seems like a great value for such a powerful computer in a very small package. 2 week update- still awesome. Runs cool even at max performance settings, smooth, fast and quiet, fast boot up. OS comparison- Win11 uses about 25% CPU, over 4GB of RAM, 1gb of swap and constant internet traffic of several hundred Mb per second at idle with no programs running. Ubuntu25 uses about 1% of CPU, less than 2 GB of RAM, 100MB of swap and no internet traffic under the same idle conditions. All features are fully supported by Ubuntu. Read more
I had a large desktop and decided to replace it with my laptop to save space and have less clutter. All worked out well and I did save a lot of space and use less AC power. Then I discovered the Mini PCâs, they looked too good to be true. So, after reviewing them all I ordered the GEEKOM Mini PC AX8 Max. It has all the features I wanted at a good price point. I liked the idea that if I was not happy with it, I could return it for a full refund. The 3-year warranty is great to have. You can tell it is quality built. I have had it for 2 weeks now, very easy to set up and all my programs work fine with it. I just leave it at the normal speed mode, it is very fast and quite. It uses very little AC power, around 65 to 75 watts in normal use. Very happy with it, I would highly recommend it. Read more
This is an excellent computer at a great price. My laptop just stopped working, and I needed a replacement when I ran across this item. I love the size and form factor of the device, and it come with great specs. It has a 1 TB hard drive and 32 GB of RAM, which is great. The performance is flawless and fast. I haven't used this feature yet, but it has 2 ethernet ports that you can use to double bandwidth (though I can't really comment because I haven't used it yet. The little PC is superfast and I'm never left waiting for anything to load, which has been a huge timesaver. I don't do much in the way of video editing or video gaming, but I am certain that this would be up to the task (even though I can't comment on that since I haven't used it. It works well in my multiple monitor setup, and since getting it I've been thinking about updating my monitors for better images. For the price and features, I don't think you'll find a better value. The media could not be loaded. After one months of putting this little powerhouse through its paces, I'm still amazed at how much performance they've packed into such a tiny box! As someone who's been building custom gaming PCs for years, I was skeptical about switching to a mini PC, but needed something more compact for my new apartment setup. The first thing that impressed me was the build quality - the aluminum alloy case feels premium with a nice weight to it, and the honeycomb design isn't just for looks - it actually helps with airflow. Setting it up was a breeze - had it up and running with Windows 11 Pro in under 10 minutes. The multiple performance modes have been surprisingly useful - I keep it in Normal mode for everyday tasks and switch to Performance mode when gaming or doing video editing. I've tested several games including Cyberpunk 2077 (medium settings, solid 45-60fps) and Fortnite (high settings, consistent 60+fps) and the performance is impressive for an integrated GPU. The cooling system they've engineered is seriously effective - even after 3-hour gaming sessions, it stays relatively cool and quiet compared to other small form factor PCs I've used before. The fan noise is noticable in Performance mode but not annoyingly loud. The connectivity options are where this mini PC really shines - the dual 2.5G LAN ports have been perfect for my home network setup, and I'm running three monitors (two via HDMI and one via USB-C) without any issues. The USB4 ports are blazing fast for transferring large video files from my external drives. Having Windows 11 Pro pre-installed is a nice touch, and the 32GB of DDR5 RAM handles multitasking like a champ - I've had Chrome with 20+ tabs, Photoshop, and Spotify running simultaneously without any slowdown. The 1TB NVMe drive is speedy for both boot times and loading games - about 15 seconds from power button to desktop. WiFi 6E connectivity has been rock solid with excellent range throughout my apartment. There are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning - the power brick is larger than I expected, almost half the size of the PC itself. Also, while the integrated Radeon 780M graphics handle most games well, it still can't compete with a high-end dedicated GPU for the latest AAA titles at max settings. I've noticed occasional coil whine under heavy loads, though it's not loud enough to be disruptive. The BIOS interface for changing performance modes feels a bit dated compared to the rest of the system. Despite these small issues, I'm thoroughly impressed with what they've managed to achieve in such a compact form factor. This mini PC has completely replaced my bulky gaming tower and freed up so much desk space without compromising on the performance I need for both work and play.ââââââââââââââââ Read more
I purchased this mini pc to minimize the clutter of having a large PC on my desk. With so many vendors what separated Geekom was their 3 yr warranty and from my understanding they been around. I also opted for the 3 year Asurion replacement for around $65 as a safe guard. So far the mini pc is running just like a regular computer. Its amazing how much power is pack into this little box. The pc is fast and quiet. It handle my home office apps nicely. The boot time is super fast. The display is look pretty good. The only issue I had, it getting a KVM to work with this computer. So I gave it a 4 star because time will tell. So far I like this Geekom mini pc. Read more
