I definitely agree this method is unconventional, but I don't use these tablets every day. I keep them in my work bag and like to pack them for trips. My kids don't really like them because they're too "chalky" or whatever their complaint of the day is. I like that they're fluoride free, as well, and so many are included in this pack.
