Bible was used, which I knew. I love it.

This would be a good book for model builders
I always find it tough to do a book review, and give the book some justice. This book is well written and informative. It didn't meet my needs regarding uniforms,but no research book ever really does cover everything you need. If you need to learn about German insignia, look no farther. That area is quite complete.Some thing to keep in mind is the age of the book, 1971. It uses an older, different format than say, the Mirouze book listed below on the subject. One thing I liked was the photos illustrating the captions. Usually just one per described item. The photos were of actual solders in different locations during the war, and it was nice not seeing the same stock photos all the time. Read more

Sad lack of color photos on this book.
I was hoping to get color photos of proud German soldiers in their uniforms but they're all black and white which, needless to say is uninspiring to read. Otherwise, it's well-written and the black and white photos do an ok job of depicting the uniforms. Read more
Accurate knowledge
I have had this book for years and continue to use it as a reference when having to costume. It gives accurate details to placement of insignia's and also uniforms for German soldiers. Highly recommend it. Read more
