Used this on a trip where there would be sulfuric gas smells in the water with 5 people sharing one bathroom and it worked like a charm! I wanted to get a purifier that had a physical air filter and UV C. There are 2 fan speed settings which was nice since I could use the high setting to cool off in the plane. it is easy to accidentally turn on but you can hear it running and the battery life is good.. On the flight back the plane smelled like urine and ithe filter completely removed the odor. It also passes the tissue test for air flow as well… Definite buy from me! Read more

It’s really hard to tell if it works well. One thing I noticed is that I have to recharge it all the time because I don’t think it last very long. It’s pretty quiet though so one can’t tell if it’s on or off. Read more

Having a portable UV-C purifier is great. That was what attracted me to this. Pointing a phone camera down the top suggests that it really does use UV-C; the UV-C emitter seems to be well embedded inside the purifier, so there's not much risk of exposure here. The amount of air it moves isn't a ton, it would be great if it moved more air, but it's small, so I suppose this is reasonable. The night light feature is cute, I'm not sure when I'd need it but it's pleasant, so I like that it's there. It seems like it moves a little more air than the "pure enrichment" portable hepa I also have. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't actually use a hepa filter. It's an 'allergen' filter. This will still capture some airborne covid, and with UV-C the combination should work well, but I would really prefer if they sold real hepa filters for these. If they started to do that, I'd update this review to five stars. I've also noticed that for it uses 5v 1a charging instead of at least taking the full 5v 2.1a available on standard USB A, so it will charge slowly. More annoying than that, though, is that it outright doesn't charge at all if plugged into a pure USB C charger that offers more power, even though USB C allows devices to choose the amount of power draw they need. Every other USB C device I own works with the same cable and charger I use. Even if they weren't going to design it for higher powered charging, it would be good if it could at least work with a typical USB C charger Read more

This is a small but full-featured portable travel air purifier with UV-C from Germ Guardian. We use the large Germ Guardian purifiers in our home, so when we saw these new smaller USB powered ones, we had to grab them for our travels. This unit has independent functions of on/off, UV, and fan speed. I like that you're able to choose which functions you want on. It also remembers your last choice, so when you turn it on the next time, it's the same setting you left it on. Bonus - there's a handle strap for carrying it around, comes with a USB to USB-C charging cable, and the unit is ETL certified for safety. One thing I would have liked to see is a carrying pouch since it's meant to be portable. ETA 09-08-2022 - just returned from a week of travel with this air purifier. We love the portability of this little GermGuardian, but the internal battery does not last long. You can only use it for about an hour before having to plug it in again (on high fan setting + UV light). Read more

Just what I was looking for. I drive people to various appointments and was looking for an air purifier to put in the vehicle. It could not be an ionizer or ozone device because they aggravate my sinus. This one actually has a sticker on it that it makes less than 0.001 ozone in 8 hours, which is next to nothing. It fits nicely in any regular cup holder. The USB power with the battery option is the only logical choice in the car. Having the battery option is nice if USB slots are limited or filled with phone chargers. The loop at the top is convenient when hands are full with purse, phone, water, key etc when heading to the car. There is no smell from the fan. In the slow fan setting it is barely noticeable. The fan is noticeable at the high setting. One drawback, though minor, the bottom piece could be tighter. After repeatedly taking it in and out of the car, it popped off. The cup holders with rubber grips can catch it just right and slip it off. Read more

Like some of the other reviewers, mine knocked a chunk of plastic loose inside and occasionally a piece will come out and it makes a knocking noise. But it still works as long as that piece is plastic is safely at bottom. Obviously the piece is not needed, so they need to reengineer to remove. I use it in my car and easily packs in carry on for travel. Read more
