I don't really like shaving. My face has a tendency to break out after I shave, and for whatever reason, I very easily cut the skin on my face. I currently have a handle and blade that has been working okay for me, but I still can't shave more than once a week. If I did, my skin was not happy about it. I figured it was time to try something new. I tried out these blades with a Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor handle. The blades fit perfectly with that handle. I was able to easily click the blade onto the handle, and it was ready to go. To give this blade a true test, I decided I had to shave more frequently than my old razor allowed. I used one of these blades and shaved with it every 1-2 days. Each time I used it, I got a nice, close shave. I haven't been getting any nicks or cuts either. Best of all, I haven't had any kind of skin irritation or breakouts, even with frequent shaving. These blades are also somehow far more durable than the old ones I was using. With my normal blade, I would have had to change to a new one once or twice by now because it would have started nicking my skin. With the Gillette Profusion Pro Glide blade, I am still using the same one, and I haven't seen any dullness of the blades yet. At the time of this review, the price of this nine-pack of blades, combined with how long each one lasts, makes this pack a great value. I am extremely impressed with these razor blades. I have tried quite a few and thought I was just stuck with shaving weekly. This is going to be my new razor going forward. I am cancelling my old subscription and will be getting these from now on. I fully recommend these blades to anyone who wants a close shave but has skin that is sensitive to shaving. For me, this is the best blade I have used. Read more
This is a 9 count pack of Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide Razor Blades for Men. This package is distributed by Gillette, Cincinnati, OH. I have been a long-term Gillette Sensor Excel 3 blade razor user for over 20 years. As I have gotten older my beard has become heavier so I wanted to try these and I am glad I did. These blades are very sharp and provide a very comfortable shave. The blade quality is excellent, and I have not nicked myself yet using these. The only drawback of using this five bladed razor is that I find it difficult to touch up areas like the side of my lips and directly below my nose and lips due to the width of the blade. I will continue to use my Sensor Excel 3 blade razor for those areas. I highly recommend these razors though for the ease of shave and lack of shaving irritation as I have highly sensitive skin. Also though these blades can be expensive, they are able to be used multiple times before they become dull and need replaced. Highly recommend, as you get what you pay for when it comes to a comfortable nick-free shave. Read more
I ordered these Fusion 5 ProGlide razors because they are just about the only razors that work for me. I have an especially thick and coarse beard and pretty much all of the other razors I have tried can't give me the close shave I desire. In fact, the only way I can get a close shave is to shave against the grain. With other razors, this gives me painful razor burn. I can get about five to seven shaves with these razors without razor burn. That might not seem to be much, but compared to the other razors, it is significant. I can continue to shave with the grain for many more shaves, but the shave isn't as close is I would like. I saw that these blades are rated at 30 shaves per cartridge, but I can't come close to that. Again, I have a very coarse beard so that should be expected. I would definitely recommend these blades, but if you have a tough beard, you probably won't get the 30 shaves per cartridge. Read more
These ProGlide refills are still the ones I keep coming back to. The 5 blades give a really smooth, close shave without a lot of tugging, even when I’ve let the stubble grow out a bit, and the larger lubrication strip helps the razor glide over the skin instead of feeling scratchy. The blades do a good job stretching the skin and guiding hairs into the blades, so I get fewer missed patches around the jawline and neck. Each cartridge lasts a decent amount of time—roughly up to a month if you shave a few times a week—so even though the upfront price feels high, they don’t burn out after just a couple of uses. They fit all the standard Gillette 5‑blade handles (Fusion5/ProGlide), so you don’t have to worry about compatibility if you already have a handle you like. The downside is pretty obvious: they’re not cheap, especially compared to basic disposables or lower‑end cartridge systems. But if you care about comfort, fewer nicks, and a close shave that doesn’t leave your face feeling shredded, these blades are kind of worth the splurge—especially in a 9‑count pack that stocks you for a while. These are exactly what I expected, and they worked just how I hoped they would. There are a few things I will not lower my standards on, and razors are one of them, because there is nothing worse than a dull blade that pulls at your hair or skips across your skin. That is definitely not the case with these. They feel sharp right away and give a clean, smooth shave without tugging. I like the flexibility of the head since it follows the contours of my face well. I can usually get about a month out of a blade before it starts to feel less sharp, which has been consistent for me. Swapping them out could not be easier, since you just pop off the old one and click the new one into place. Once it is on, it is secure, and you don’t have to worry about it falling off mid-shave. These are great refills that make it easy to replace used blades with sharp and ready-to-use new ones. Read more
