Purchased this shaker because it was so pretty and wanted glass, not metal. It is very solid and heavy. Holds large ice cubes and is easy to clean. My only concern, and I have no cause right now for any concern, is the rubber lip that keeps the top on the shaker. Using it everyday, I am concerned that the rubber gasket may lose its elasticity and will leak. As stated, this has not happened, it is only a concern. The shaker is so much prettier than my last one. Looks aside, it is very functional and a great purchase. Regarding the gasket, if something did loosen it, I would buy this product again. UPDATE: Have been using this shaker almost daily for over 6 months and there is no sign of the gasket coming loose or deteriorating in any way. GREAT purchase. Highly recommended. UPDATE December 2021: Shaker has worked GREAT. Use it every night. I made one mistake the other day. I put the top, with the rubber seal, in the dishwasher. NO more seal. I am so disappointed in this. It looks great, and has a nice weight. However, it is completely useless as the seal does not work, it leaks when shaking it, and leaks when pouring it. I have spent a lot of time shaking ice water trying to get it to seal, but it just will not make a tight seal to shake, and even worse when pouring.
