I waited to review until after two complete wash/dry cycles--still soft, no fading, some shrinkage. ___These are soft towels, I was happily surprised by that. They tell you the measurements, and they arrived at that size, but I know how cotton can shrink, so I waited on a couple of cycles before writing this review, and I held one washcloth aside to compare to. ___The washcloth shrank almost an inch in its length and about a 1/2 inch in its width. Obviously towels will shrink a bit more. FYI, I dry cotton towels on high heat, so this should represent the shrinkage you will see. ___The colors stayed true (I have dark brown, so it took a lot of dye to go that dark). Also, there was no bleeding onto the white cotton rag I threw into the washer to check for bleeding. Other colors may use different dyes, so this may or may not be true for other colors. I would always run the first load without any other colors to be sure. ___The towels also stayed soft. There was no excessive lint in the dryer, so they held together well--in other words, they did not shed. That means they should last a long time. By comparison, Pima cotton, soft though it is, can shed terribly. Again, these towels do not. ___If the towels are a bit bigger than you want, after a couple of cycles you should be okay. ___If the towels are barely the size you want, then you either have to line dry or possibly dry on low heat to keep the size. If you forget, you will see shrinkage like I did. ___I would rate these a 4.7 if I could. ___I hope this considered review helped you--let me know if you can. Read more

I'm learning that there is a lot of variance in towels and towel quality (not something I've spent a lot of time pondering in the past). I bought a set like this one for about the same price from an online retailer that shall remain nameless, and after the fist wash, they started to fray and fall apart. Next I got a single towel set (1 large, 1 hand, 1 washcloth) also for this same price. I could tell the difference right away and it has held up just fine after a few washes so far. That brings me current to this set of towels. Same price as the previous two with obviously more pieces than the previous. First trial was to put them through the wash, which they handled fine. Next was to use one post shower. It was soft and absorbent. The towels are thick but not shaggy. So, are these nicer than the first set? Yes, 100%. SO much better if for no other reason they didn't immediately fall apart. Are they nicer than the second set (the 3 piece set)? Well, no.. These are great towels and I'm excited to have them but I did notice a difference in quality of the material and the softness was on a different level, but considering the price and the number of pieces included, this is a great set at a good price. I don't really know what to do with the two bath mats (like the sort of thing you would find in a hotel), I use regular bath mats so these are a bit superfluous to me, I might have preferred an extra regular towel, but that's just me. Over all, I'm very happy with these towels, they are a reasonable quality for a reasonable price, maybe even a bit nicer than that. Read more

I purchased this towel set in the burgandy color. It's faded a teeny but I'd have been surprised if it had not. Except after the initial washing prior to use I haven't gotten a massive amount of the fibers in my dryer filter. I've only washed them twice --took me a while to get around to using them. As I'd said in the title, the stitching is coming out --only on a washcloth, so far. Considering the stitching on the items is chain stitch, that's not surprising. Chain stitch, a type of seam used when in a hurry, should only be used on pet food bags and large animal feed bags, not on everyday items, nor clothing items. Guaranteed the stitching will pull out. One slight snag, or stitch breaking and zoom, the consumer is left with a long piece of thread and an item missing its seam, leaving it looking ratty. The manufacturer should change the stitch to a simple running stitch. It's quick and holds up better. A stitch breaks on that seam, the whole thing isn't going to fall apart. I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of returning the item and finding something else. When the threads fall out, I'll donate them to the vet's office or the local animal shelter. They're always in need of old towels. Read more

I waited to write this review after a few washes! These have a good amount of lint. They are relatively thick and absorbent. The color is as expected. They are soft in the medium range. This is a decent value considering the number of towels and various sizes (a floor mat towel too). Overall these are a good option for our needs. Read more

Luxurious set of towels. They were really stiff when they first arrived, but after throwing them in the washer and dryer they softened right up. Very absorbent. Love the wash cloths. They do an excellent job of cleaning. Thicker towels that are truly black. Which is exactly what I wanted. Read more
