I grew up in a family of hairdressers, so I know my way around hair products. This product does what it’s supposed to do like similar salon products and that’s to provide lift at the roots. It lasted two days in my hair before I washed it out, which is solid. My hair is thinning around my hairline and face, and my scalp runs dry. I only used five puffs near my roots on one side of my head to test it out for some lift. I didn’t apply it directly to my part because it will leave a visible cast—I sprayed underneath instead. My hair is very long about 8” past my shoulders, and the lift was still noticeable. If you have shorter hair, the results will probably be even more dramatic. Products like this all work basically the same way and use similar ingredients. They coat your hair with a gripping powder that coats your hair and creates lift. This is NOT a dry shampoo! It’s way more intense. It adds texture and leaves a coarse, dry feeling wherever you apply it, so keep that in mind. If you’re texture-sensitive, skip this and go for something else. The media could not be loaded. The first thing to note about this product is that the instructions are a complete zero, very poor attempt at Chinese to English translation (see photo). My wife came to me puzzled by how to apply the product, and I didn't figure it out either. She finally realized the container was made like a spray pump bottle and you're supposed to push down on the unmarked cap to expel powder out of the tube. Who knew? As you can see from the video, even using two hands this is an awkward motion, it works much better of someone else applies it for you. A good percentage of the product goes up in the air also! So how does it work? Pretty simple, it's just a modern twist on the dry shampoo products of the 1960's and 70's like Minipoo Dry Shampoo and Clairol Psssssst! The container is fairly travel friendly which could be a selling point, but it's not an economy buy, there's only 4 grams (0.14 oz) inside, so I don't think you'll get more than a handful of uses. Try this instead: Take a clean dry hand or bath towel and vigorously rub your hair for a minute as if you were drying it. Presto, same effect! The towel will redistribute oils from the hair roots, soaking up some of it, and add texture and volume to the hair, for free! The product I received was branded "Sevich" instead of "Gowwim" but appears to be the same product, called "Miracle Volume Powder." This texture powder is very effective in giving the hair the clean, full look in an instant as it absorbs all the oil right away. It is perfect on those days when I am in a hurry. It is so easy to use. Basically, shake the bottle, aim the nozzle at the root of the hair and massage the powder in. I love that it is gentle on my sensitive scalp and does not cause any irritation.
