Seems like a great jump box

Alright, this device is quite heavy when you first get it. The construction appears sturdy, and the connectors seem to be of good quality, although the cables are a bit short. This is important because my vehicle has the battery in the trunk, and reaching the terminals isn’t as convenient as it should be in this space. Other vehicles have batteries under the hood or under the backseat, so this might be fine for those locations, but the trunk was a different situation. Longer cables would have been better. To clarify, as mentioned in the description, this device doesn’t have a battery. Instead, it uses rapid discharge capacitors to jump-start the vehicle, which changes how the process needs to be done. To build up the charge, you have to connect both terminals to the jump box, which is somewhat contrary to the usual jumper cable instructions. I tried it out, and it did charge up the capacitors pretty quickly. Of course, the battery wasn’t completely dead, but it was worth testing. I had a dead battery that I connected for testing, and it discharged and started the vehicle using the on-screen timed discharge. It was easy to use, but there were some caveats. While it was functional, I had to carefully read through the limited instructions to turn it off. It seems that no buttons actually power it down. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, as the capacitors aren’t batteries, or if I was doing something incorrectly. The instructions are not very helpful in this particular situation. On the positive side, it has a USB port and a USB-C port that are both labeled. The USB-C port is specifically for charging the capacitors, while the USB port is labeled as “out,” assuming it’s for charging USB devices. With that option, it seems great, but I’m concerned about how it works with capacitors that discharge in this manner. I worry about overloading the cable and/or the device. Overall, the design is standard and no-frills. It’s just a basic start-the-vehicle box. The temperature rating is good for keeping the device in the vehicle, except for summer. Cars and trucks can easily reach temperatures exceeding 160 degrees during the summer, and this device couldn’t withstand such high temperatures. I assume the risk lies in the capacitor, as most capacitors have operating temperature limits. Despite this, the device functions effectively when needed. The description mentions over 100,000 uses on a vehicle, which suggests an extremely long lifespan if stored properly. However, I do not foresee most users ever reaching a usage level close to that number. The device does come with a USB-C cable for charging, but it lacks a charging block. Read more

The Technology With This Device is Stunning. Works Awesome

The GR7 7000Amp Super Capacitor Jump Starter is a high-performance "batteryless" emergency tool designed for those who prioritize long-term reliability and safety over multi-purpose gadgetry. Unlike standard lithium-ion jump packs, this unit utilizes 6 massive 3000F supercapacitors to provide a massive surge of power even in extreme environments. Core Technology and Performance Batteryless Design: Because it contains no chemical battery, it has a 10-year+ lifespan and can withstand over 100,000 charge cycles. You don't need to remember to charge it every few months; you can simply toss it in your trunk and forget about it until you need it. 7000A Peak Current: This is an exceptionally high rating, engineered to start virtually any 12V vehicle, including large 10L+ diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks, providing a massive "kick" to the starter motor. Ultra-Fast Charging: If your car battery is weak but not completely flat, the GR7 can "borrow" enough energy to charge itself in just 2–5 minutes. If your battery is stone-dead, you can charge it from a 12V cigarette lighter or a USB power bank in about 10–15 minutes. Safety and Weather Resistance Extreme Temperatures: One of the biggest advantages of supercapacitors is their operating range. This unit remains fully functional from -40°F to 158°F, whereas lithium-ion packs often fail to discharge in extreme cold or become hazardous in a hot car. SuperSafe Protections: The GR7 includes 10 built-in safety features, including spark-proof technology, reverse polarity protection, and over-current protection. Since there is no internal battery, there is zero risk of fire or explosion if left in a hot vehicle during summer. Usage Considerations Not a Power Bank: Unlike lithium jump starters, the GR7 cannot charge your phone or power your laptop. Its capacitors discharge their energy almost instantly for starting engines and do not hold a charge for long-term storage. Ease of Use: It features a clear LCD display that shows real-time voltage and charging progress. The "Force Start" mode is available for cases where the car battery is too low to be detected by the smart sensors. Pros and Cons Pros: Maintenance-free (no periodic charging required), massive 7000A peak current, and unmatched performance in extreme cold. Cons: Cannot be used as a portable power bank for mobile devices; slightly bulkier than pocket-sized lithium starters. A great invention that seems solid

This jump starter weighs only 9 lbs. 12.5 oz. That’s about 9.78lbs. I love that. The cables from the body of the starter to the tips of the clamps are 17 inches. For me this length has worked well for the 2 vehicles that I used it on. There was more than enough cable length to comfortably connect to the battery terminals. For some vehicles it might be tight but you can turn this jump starter on its back to get more length. The power is incredible. It starts the vehicle faster than any other starter I’ve used. The time to charge from a dead battery was approximately 2 minutes. (It’s not necessary to charge the starter to 100% before attempting a start). The storage capacity of the starter is great. I charged it several days ago and it’s still above 90%. It is incredibly durable. It is light but not so light that it feels cheap. Think I the weight of a gallon of milk; that’s the weight of this starter. For the price, this is a wonderful purchase. It can start a car from its own dead battery and can be charged from a house outlet. It’s reported to last at least 10 years and likely more. It never needs to be charged and it stores very nicely because it’s compact for a starter. I no longer have to jump other cars off of my battery. I’m very pleased. Read more
