We mainly purchased these because they were labeled as dishwasher safe. I don't mind trading off longevity for the ability to just throw them in the dishwasher. After a month of usage, there's no fading and no rusting. I noticed some of the reviews of the blue-colored set have mentioned fading - I'm not experiencing a comparable fading with the black-colored set. No rusting either. The knives arrived sharp, the block serves its purpose, and I think they should hold up well for several years. I have owned a few sets, none like this one. Just the knives you need, for the most common tasks in a kitchen. They are sharp, easy to hold, look good on the kitchen counter. There is nothing I don't like about this beautiful set of knives. Highly recommend. Read more
