Very happy with this , I have a dust filter that covers all the black center of the console to protect all the intake air , was worried this might not fit exactly how the original panels did and would leave gaps it did not … it fit perfectly, even with that dust filter on it when I opened the console to install this product it was still dirty … so the filter mesh that this comes with this product that goes directly on the fan is an amazing idea… my console sits on a stand that has fans that suck air out of the bottom. I also have additional fans on the back that pull air out of the back with all of that extra pressure. I wanted these side vents to relieve that stress , the fact that it’s now double filtered.. Fits well and adds protection against large dust particles and pet hair that could enter the system. I had a PS5 that, after many years of use, started overheating due to dust buildup. After cleaning it out, it ran normally again. When these screens became available for my Pro console, I decided to give them a try. Installation is straightforward. Watching a YouTube video for cover removal helps, and the included instructions guide you through the rest. The screens do a good job keeping out larger debris like pet hair and dust bunnies, though very fine dust will still get through. The openings in the cover are designed to improve cooling, but I can’t confirm how much of a difference they make. Overall, it’s a nice $25 upgrade. The silicone port covers, however, are mostly ineffective—only about half fit securely, and the HDMI cover didn’t fit at all. Read more

These ventilated faceplates went on with some difficulty and one side never snapped in correctly, which left me doubting the overall security. In terms of size and shape they match the factory design, and they do seem to help the system push out more heat. Functionally they work, but the fit is the real issue. The included dust screens attach with adhesive and line up perfectly once applied. Removing the clear backing is tricky though, and I damaged one in the process, so care is needed there. Once installed they fit the fan guards without any problems. What I do not like is the removal of the PlayStation logo and the plain look of the plate. Without that detail the design feels cheap and unfinished. Overall it is a clever idea, but if the faceplate cannot stay securely attached, it becomes a deal breaker.
