This fan has seriously improved the overheating of our son's ps5. He was literally disassembling it (don't judge, I know) and putting a fan on it just to keep it cool whenever he'd bring it back and forth between our house and his moms. I got tired of almost stepping on the outer shell and figured there has to be an alternative and this has to be a universal issue. So I did some research, and instead of trashing something because it seems broken, I just added some sparkles to it. I bought this fan for the back of it and another one for the base. Well, he's only using this one and apparently this one is sufficient enough and he doesn't have to take the outer shell off to keep the core cool enough. It's a bit noisy in a quiet environment, but as soon as you're playing or watching TV you don't notice it. That's the only reason I'm taking off a star, but I love how it looks, I mean, you don't even notice it haha, and it works very well. It is definitely pulling heat out of the console. I do not notice it running, no excessive noise. I did break the catch on the first use, mainly because I did not read the instructions to know I had to press the catch to release it. Mine is held in place just by the USB connection, but it is staying in place so far. I travel a lot and take my PS5 with me, so have to remove the fans every time I pack my console up to go. This is easy to install, and it is very effective. Instead of blowing on the machine, it pulls the hot air out. We were having several thermal events a day. We haven’t had a single one since we got this fan a month a half ago. I’m knocking the rating down, because it screams. It was quiet for the first few weeks, but then it slowly got louder. Now, not quite two months in, it sounds like a Mariah Carey Christmas carol every time it fires up, and it stays… singing… the entire time it runs. It’s doing the job, but I’m not sure how much longer I can take the high pitched ringing through the house. May need to replace it with something else soon. Read more
