Overall it's an excellent product, as with all the grave before shave products the beard oil comes from natural ingredients. I've used many different brands of beard oils and balms and I believe that Grave Before Shave is one of the best when it comes to bang for you buck. While they are not the best product I've ever used they certainly are great performers and generally a fair bit cheaper than their competitors. I chose this product because I am huge fan of tobacco scents and this blend well with many of the different colognes that I wear Herod, Tobacco Vanille, London, Pure Havane. When it comes to scent profile the Vanilla plays a central role and some support spices give it a very gourmand sweet scent. The tobacco notes are present; however, I wouldn't compare tobacco to a cigar the scent is akin to an aromatic pipe tobacco. I typically start my day or end a shower with a light coat of beard oil. I then top it off with a light coat of beard balm to hold everything together and in place. I've used Honest Amish and it's ok. descent hold, boring fragrance that quickly leaves. I've also used Viking Revolution (Matched balm and oil fragrances)... feels like I wasted money when I could have been invested in Grave Before Shave for my beard care from the beginning. Those other oils and balms are just going to end up sitting in a drawer now. The hold of the balm is perfect. The other balms I was using just kind of added a hint of texture and hold. This formula actually helps hold the beard in place without adding any funny textures. It also tames those wild hairs that don't want to go with the flow of the rest of the beard hairs... amazing stuff. Keeps my beard clean presentable and in check. The scent of the cigar blend (vanilla) is subtle and I enjoy the subtle sent I get when moving around having a clean beard and get a wiff. Why hand't I tried the brand before? Well, seems like every random person out there has a beard oil with some simple fragrances. The name seemed silly, so wasn't sure if I could even take the product seriously. However, I was bored with what I had, still disappointed with the balm and was curious to try the cigar blend... Also, stuff seemed overprice...
