My use for this is generally single-servings of white rice and this is the perfect appliance for the job. It has a small footprint on my counter, takes barely any prep work (pour in rice, pour in water, press a button, done) and the rice is consistently perfect. I set it up before I feed my dogs and I don't have to monitor the rice cooking in any way. Sometimes I set my phone timer to go off 10 minutes before the rice is done and I will crack an egg on top. By the end of the cycle I have an egg with the rice. I've experimented with veggies like broccoli and if you put them in at the right time you have a great little meal. I've never owned a rice cooker and only used one a few times but it was huge and bulky. This is perfect if you want to replace meals with a huge healthy bowl of rice. Read more

The media could not be loaded. When giving up white rice is not an option for your family, you find ways to cut the carbs without giving up a favorite food. With this rice cooker get your perfectly cooked rice and oatmeal without the full carb load as with traditionally cooked rice. It has setting for white rice, brown rice, oatmeal, low crab rice, and other grains. It makes 8 cups cooked rice at once. Easy to use, fill rice with plastic measuring cup to top, each cup is 1 cup of uncooked rice. Then fill the black insert to the line that corresponds to the number of cups of rice. 2 cups rice fill to 2 cup line in the insert. Place the insert in the machine then the stainless steel insert on top and close the lid. Turn on then select your rice (white rice) on the touch screen and then hit start. Rice was cooked perfectly, not sticky and didn't burn the bottom. It has a stay warm setting when cooking is completed. I turned it off and unplugged it, I returned 3 hours later and the rice was still warm and ready to serve with dinner. I would buy this again and give it as gifts for friends and family. I have recommended it to family friends looking to cut carbs. Easy to use and does what it says. Read more

The rice cooker works great! The problem is with the coated bowl, it scratches very easily. And GreenPan does not offer replacement parts. I tried to request a replacement bowl and they told me that the scratches are expected, so we don’t consider it a warranty issue, and no, we don’t sell replacement parts. This left me without any options. So I replied that I will be writing an honest review of their poor customer service and lack of replacement parts, and that I will no longer buy GreenPan products. That’s when they said they would send me a replacement bowl, free of charge. Had to threaten them with the truth, to get the replacement part, just terrible! I kept my word, and this will be the first and last GreenPan product I will ever buy. Read more

I really like my new rice cooker. I have a tiny rice cooker that I use frequently, but want to start cooking low-carb rice for a healthier me and decided on this machine. Glad I did. I used the low-carb brown rice setting for my wild rice and was amazed at what was left in the steaming reservoir - yuck! All that stuff would have been soaked up into my rice had I not used the low carb setting. Read more

I'm not sure if mine is defective, but so far this has burnt our rice on the keep warm function each time we've used it. I'm coming from using a zojirushi model which are supposed to be the best so maybe this is why I'm having a "bad experience" with this one. I wanted to buy a healthier rice cooker without the PFAS non stick coatings, and found this one. Its very large for the same amount of cooked rice, and it seems clunky like the lid doesn't close snuggly or click like its secured. And for a couple decades now, we have made rice in the evening for dinner and left it on the keep warm setting so we could eat it for breakfast as well. This model burns the rice to one hard brown chunk all three times we've done this so far, and its mushy in the middle. The pot is way lighter in weight than my previous brand, and seems a lot thinner, which is probably why. I called customer service and they said I was keeping it on the "Keep Warm" setting for too long and it shouldnt go overnight. I guess since I've been doing that with other brands for years this was surprising to me. This is going back. Read more

It’s a good rice cooker. I got it to make low carb rice, and it does, but in very small quantities only. It’s quantity is good for when you’re not using the low carb function. The inner liner is not so great, as it got a scratch within the first month of use. But rice comes out nice and fluffy every time. Read more
