I have an elderly clothes chest. It is maple with a clear and smooth finish. On Monday night, I put a plastic bowl that was 1/3 full of warm water on the clothes chest. The water was not anywhere near boiling but it was too hot to drink. The bowl was on the clothes chest for about five minutes. There was a white ring about 1/4 inch wide and about four inches in diameter after I removed the bowl. I ordered the product and it came on Thursday. My wife and I started scrubbing the white ring, following the instructions. We did not see any improvement for about five minutes. We were about ready to give up. However, after a few more minutes we did see improvement which encouraged us to continue. I found that I had not been putting enough effort into the work and began using my left hand to help my right hand apply more pressure to the cloth. After about ten more minutes, the white ring was gone! This made me very happy because I did not want to see the white ring several times every day on the top of my good old clothes chest. Read more

This product was effective on small area of wood that had been damp . It was not as effective on a large area that had sustained damage from a hot casserole dish placed without a pad underneath. I will buy again . But won’t let husband cook for friends) 😉 Read more

This is totally amazing. I spilled almost a bottle of water on my antique dresser. It has a glass cover on it. I didn't know that it went under the glass. I wiped the glass off and I thought that was all I needed to do. But when I went back after several hours, I discovered that almost all of the water was under glass which very much discolored the wood. I took the glass off, tried to get the water off then let it dry. When I received the water mark remover, I rubbed it like the instructions said. It was amazing that the water damage all came off and it looks like new. It is a great product. Read more

I was eager to see if this product would really help erase watermarks on wood furniture. I have an older semi-antique wood dresser with an ugly watermark right in the center. The product did a nice job on the watermark first use. It does take elbow grease and I may give it another shot later but I am quite happy with the results and would recommend it. Read more

Definitely faded my mark but did leave quite a shine behind. Dresser was already shiny to begin with but this left a noticeable texture difference. I went ahead and applied to the entire dresser but it takes a long time and a lot of elbow grease to really get it to work/change shine/texture. Isn’t perfect but it’ll do. Read more

I was skeptical like many others reviewers but it only took a $5 leap of faith and it turned out to be well worth it. We have a mid-century round dining table about 48”‘ x 48 “ that was neglected and abused for 20 years. It was rarely, if ever, polished (maybe lightly 5 x’s in 20 yrs.). We either wiped it clean with a rag or paper towels and occasionally used it for sit down meal. It became more of a shelf for mail, assorted papers, vitamins, medications, cellphone headsets, etc. I carelessly caused two 3’ x 3 “water marks plus it had a few smaller finger sized ones and other stain and dark spots. Like I say; it was neglected and abused. I decided to try and recondition it. Not professionally; not stripping and re-dying it. That would cost almost as much as the table did originally when we got it on CL about 20 years ago. Firstly, I got a bottle of Guardsmen Clean & Polish Cream. It did a very nice initial job and restored some hues and some or the grain but the table still had the water makes and dark spots that the Clean & Polish didn’t get out all the ground in dirt. Don’t get me wrong; the Guardsman Clean & Polish truly cleaned and upgraded the table several levels but it was still lacking. Then I saw the cloth and said to myself for $5 it’s worth a try. Well the water marks are gone and they were pretty bad. The other stains are also gone, the hue of the wood is bright and warm and the beautiful grain of the wood is quite visible. The table has a mild smooth luster. It looks great. One thing to keep in mind though as I did from reading the reviews. You do need to apply a good 10 minutes of elbow grease or you won’t necessarily get the same results and as for saving the cloth for another day; in my case the cloth was entirely soiled and smudged in every spot and tossed as it can’t be washed and reused. But great results ! I recommend this Guardsman product as well as their Clean & Polish Cream. Read more
