I use this CD player at the gym and when I walk my dogs. Because I occasionally drop my CD players, this is my 3rd one, but my favorite so far and here's why: When I end mid-track, the player picks up where I left off when I turn it back on. The on/off button is a slide button located on the side of the player, preventing the unit from bumping into other items in my gym bag and accidentally turning on (my two previous players on/off buttons were push-style and on the top of the players). Volume button is also on the side and you turn the button with your finger. Easy to figure out how to use (I didn't need to look at the instruction booklet that came with the unit).
