These have been great for both me and my daughter! I don't know how well they would work with braces or orthodontic appliances, but I can tell you how they worked for us since neither of us have braces. The most important thing I want to express here is how much these helped my disabled child. She is autistic and struggles with tasks that require a high level of manual dexterity (buttoning buttons, grasping small objects etc.), so being able to effectively manipulate a small, thin piece of floss was not only next-to impossible, but very frustrating for her as well. I’ve been using Gum Chucks for YEARS and I will continue to as long as they exist! No more wasting yards of floss and wrapping it around your fingers just to get a good grip!! Gum Chucks make flossing so much easier because, you have complete control of the little piece of floss with the help of the chucks! I don’t even have to look in a mirror when I floss! My son was told at his last check-up that he needed to floss better so I got him a pair of Gum Chucks and now he’s flossing every day just because, this tedious but, very necessary task is so much easier for him to do. I’ve had my Gum Chucks for probably 10+ years and I just replace the floss piece which lasts me months with just rinsing it off after each use. I really like gum chucks but the new design of the tips were mistake if you ask me. The original tip design were great and I had no complaints, but with the seam on the new design of the floss tips splits and make the new design completely useless.
