The fabric of this dress feels wonderful weight and quality. The seams are impeccable, it is fully lined, and I love the colours and unique blocking that is especially flattering from the front. The shoulders, arms, and hips fit very well, and the length is appropriate. However there is absolutely no tapering at the waist. I would expect some blockiness to this style, and on the sides the bit of excess space is passable. However the back is a major problem because there is so much excess fabric it bulges out into an extending pouch at the small of my back. I do have a round bottom, so maybe the silhouette would be better on a straighter build. I however will be taking in the waist at least a few inches. The rest of the dress seems worth the effort. This H HALSTON Womens 3/4 Sleeve Round Neck Knee Length Dress is one sharp looking dress. The style is office appropriate, but it's cute enough to wear during the evening. Everything is high quality. The dress is lined in white. The back has a hook and eye and an invisible zipper. The fabric is a crepe-textured synthetic in a black and cream (almost white) block pattern. It's a 3/4 length-sleeved sheath style, so aside from the darts it's a straight fit. The measurements are in cm, which is a pain for us USAers. The measurements for the size 10 that I ordered are bust 92.5 cm/36.4", waist 71cm/28" and 95cm/37.4". The actual measurement pit to pit (just above the darts) was 38". The measurement from the back to the hem is 35". It's a pretty good fit for my daughter given the measurements, but she's short and short-waisted so it has a drop waist look on her. She's also young enough that knee length is too long and I need to hem it. That'll be a hassle with the lining so I might break down and find a professional seamstress/tailor. This Halston dress is super cute. I love the color block style, it's giving me 60's vibes. I appreciate that it comes to my knees, as I don't like short dresses. It fits true to size. I currently wear size 12 bottoms, and usually large in tops, and the size 12 fits perfectly everywhere. The sleeves are the perfect length, the shoulders are comfortable, and I love the way the dress skims over my curves, and I don't feel uncomfortable in it. The fabric is a medium to heavyweight knit type of fabric, and it has a little bit of stretch to it, but not a lot. It is fully lined. It has a zipper that goes all the way up the back of the dress. This dress is of nice quality. The stitching, lining, fit, and style are all good quality. I have styled this with some kitten heels for a more refined look, and some knee-high boots for a more fun and flirty look (see pictures). When I saw this dress, I was so excited at the prospect of owning my first Halston dress! When I received it a few hours ago, I was thrilled when I removed it from its package. A few moments later, I was crestfallen. I cannot even hang this dress up, much less wear it. The first thing I wanted to do was put it on a hanger and admire it. So I carefully unhooked the back hook above the zipper; and when I did, I noticed there was a little discoloration on the right side of the zipper where it's white. There were some gray spots and what appeared to be some minor "pilling" of the fabric. Then, I tried the zipper. It did not budge. I tried again. It did not budge. I have been operating zippers most of my life, and have never encountered a zipper that didn't move at all. I have carefully looked all around the zipper and cannot see a specific reason, other than it appears to have been sewn "into" the dress itself. It doesn't move at all. I am completely heartbroken because I cannot even try this beautiful size 6 dress on. I'm not sure if the very light stains are related, but I do know I could have lived with those - tried to get them out professionally - if only I could have worn this dress. The style looks like it would be nice if worn. The size looks good, but I'll never know for certain. The quality is... well, the zipper cannot be moved so I would have to say the quality is poor.
