I have lost hair on the top of my head and around the crown. I found this product, which is supposedly designed to repair and revitalize hair with an innovative formula of Minoxidil and Biotin, and also contains Niacinamide and Caffeine. I researched the ingredients before using the product: What are the ingredients used for: minoxidil, biotin, niacinamide, and caffeine? 1. I started the treatment according to the instructions, applying a few drops to my scalp with a gentle massage, and left it on for several hours. It's easy to use, but because of its potent medicinal smell, I apply the treatment at home for a few hours, then shower. Be careful when applying the drops to avoid getting them in your eyes. I’ve been using this minoxidil serum for a while and so far I like it. The texture is lightweight and easy to apply with the dropper. It doesn’t feel too greasy and absorbs reasonably well into the scalp. I also appreciate that it doesn’t have a strong or unpleasant smell. The bottle is convenient and makes it easy to control the amount used. It fits well into my routine and doesn’t make my hair look dirty or heavy. I’ve been trying out various brands and formulations of minoxidil for close to two years now, and it does work for me. I use it only in certain areas of the scalp… I’m an older guy and wanted to prevent my receding hairline from marching all the way back to the thinning on the crown. It was my dermatologist who suggested I try minoxidil, and it took maybe five or six months to work. I’ve used different formulations, and I have used this exact brand and type before. It definitely works for me, which is why I ordered it again. I was currently using a well-known generic store brand that was minoxidil only. This includes small amounts of biotin, niacinimide, and caffeine, and whether they make a difference, I can’t tell. I was using a spray bottle (instead of the dropper) to apply, and this brand does tend to clog up the sprayer after a while—I’m not sure why. But this comes with a dropper, so that is probably the best way to apply it. There is a slight odor applying it, though that does go away when it dries (which is just a few minutes). Also, like other brands of topical minoxidil (except for the foam), this contains alcohol and I have found that it did dry out and flake my scalp where I was applying it, so, for a while, I had to cut back from twice daily (as recommended) to once. There is a little bit of greasiness upon application, but it’s less greasy than some other brands I’ve used. This is priced well and, since I use it only in certain areas, it lasts pretty long. To begin, I love that this product is not greasy, which means I can apply it in the morning and then go about my day without having greasy hair. It's also nice that the scent is very minimal and not especially unpleasant. I am female and lost half my hair due to a medication I was taking.
