My son uses textured powder for his hair ( I guess its a new thing) and I wanted to try this because the stuff I was getting was about $15-$20 a bottle and it was only a tad bit larger than this. This seems easy to use, does not hold like the other stuff, but works well, it really don't have a smell so it don't stink, you can style your hair pretty well with it, but it just don't hold as long, the expensive stuff holds all day pretty much where this wears off until he gets out of school. Context: I'm a middle-aged man with short, dark hair. I typically use a matte wax or clay because I want a dry/matte appearance, medium to strong hold, and added texture. At this point I've tried about 5 different hair powders and it seems like some are surprisingly good and others are disappointingly bad. This one is on the good side. Because I've tried so many powders, I started comparing the ingredients list to find out what the good ones and bad ones have in common. I noticed that the ones I've liked have glycerin included and it's usually the first or near the first ingredient. I think that may be responsible for the powder not feeling chalky. It's a white powder with the consistency of something like talcum powder, but once you put it in and work it through, it's invisible and your hair feels reasonably soft. You can tell there is something there if you run your hands through it but it's softer with this powder. The hold, as promised is medium. This isn't hair gel. You will get volume and you can shape your hair how you like but this isn't for creating very precise styles, at least not in my experience. Read more

This stuff is amazing! My hair was flat and dirty, and I had the back pulled back into a clip. I sprinkled a tiny bit of this on my finger tips and rubbed it into my roots in front and tousled it with my fingers. It gave the front of my hair such great volume, and it also acts as a dry shampoo almost. The volume stays really well, and I can just pick it with my fingertips to bring it back up if it does fall a little. It says it can also be used on damp hair. This is a great product for men and women, and especially for those with thinning hair. I would highly recommend this. Read more
