I'm unsure why this product is being marketed specifically to men because it's certainly gender-neutral and versatile for different hair lengths and styles. This texturizing powder creates big volume with a little backcombing, which is particularly helpful for updos. Root lifters only go so far and are possibly better suited to everyday volume-boosting, but when you're going for a more dramatic style and not as concerned about buildup, this is an awesome helper for getting BIG hair. This product does add a white cast to the hair if you don't work it in. It's also somewhat mattifying and adds a grippy texture that doesn't give the hair the silkiest feel. To restore a little shine, I like adding a very sparing amount of finishing sheen to the completed style. Read more
