I usually use a mousse to add body to my very flat, thin hair. The first time I used this, I used way too much (about 5 or 6 pumps) on my hair because it didn't seem like much - that was a mistake - I couldn't even get my brush through the hair after that. I got smarter and tried using only a pump or 2 max into my hand and then working it into my hair. It did add body and thickness as promised. I think the mousse still adds more volume but I can see where there are times that I would opt for this over the mousse (particularly when traveling just for size and convenience).
