I didn’t think I was going to like Halife’s Open Cardigan Sweater that much because I like to have at least one closure. But, I read through the product info, (even though half the time it’s more hype than info) and decided to take a chance. I need a light weight cardigan for Fall. Full disclosure, I’ve tried a few cardigans this season and have been extremely disappointed on several occasions. Granted, I’m somewhat picky about sweaters, and fabrics, and how hard it is to find things that actually look flattering on me. Yada yada… I’m going to keep this short and sweet, which is unusual for me, but the sweater is just pure heaven. It doesn’t even really feel like a “sweater.” More like a buttery, woven flannel. Don’t let that scare you. I really can’t think of adequate words to describe the fabric, but it is so soft and unique feeling. Once you get it on, it’s like wearing a second skin. Finally! The sleeves are long enough for me. There is a banded cuff so if somebody didn’t want them that long, they could turn up the cuffs. Here’s the thing, sometimes I throw on a sweatshirt or a sweat jacket when I get in bed because I’m doing stuff on my phone and my shoulders get cold. If I happen to doze off, I always wake up within 20 to 30 minutes to take it off. Usually because it’s clunky, rides up, and eventually getting uncomfortable and hot. Last night, I was feeling lazy and this was close by because I still had to review it. Well I did doze off, and I did wake up—7 hours later. Here’s the thing, I got out of bed and was headed for a cup of ambition, looked down, and was completely caught off guard! For a moment, my mind didn’t register what I was wearing. (Yes, really…that obtuse!) I had worn it over my t-shirt all night AND wasn’t even conscious of the fact I still had it on. Whatever that may or may not mean to you—I’m absolutely enthralled, delighted, enamored, astounded, or any other positively gleeful synonym you could come up with over this little cardigan. Comfy, pretty, unique fabric. I’d keep gushing, but you get the point. If I wash this thing and it doesn’t come out nicely after laundering, I’ll probably have a fit. AND, no probably’s about it, I’m going to come back and give it one star for the absolute gall of giving me fleeting happiness over a silly sweater. So silly I need a white one and a navy one! I believe I have found the perfect sweater! Starting with the rich brown color it's a great sweater to throw on over a dress, slacks or even jeans. The sweater is a medium weight, so I am wearing it in the evenings when I go out. (For some reason the restaurants and theaters like to keep the air-conditioning set at about 60, far to chilly for me.) This sweater takes the chill off without getting too warm or feeling too bulky. I find it true to size; I usually wear a size small (5'2", 115 pounds) but ordered a medium in anticipation of wearing it over the top of cumbersome clothing. After wearing it, I think a small would have still been roomy enough. I don't usually button my sweaters when I wear them and since this one doesn't even have buttons it suits me just fine. The actual material the sweater is made from is very soft; it makes me want to snuggle with it. It has a stitched in diamond pattern, taking it up a notch from a plain sweater. I have washed it once so far and laid it flat to dry. There was no stretching nor shrinkage, it retained it's shape quite well. I will be getting a lot of use from this sweater, Fall is my favorite time of year and I have a lot of clothing this will look great with. Very highly recommend, really good value for the price!
