I used this to jump start my car this morning for the first time and I couldn’t be happier! My apartment parking lot was completely empty, so I couldn’t ask a neighbor for a jump and luckily with this I didn’t even need to. Nothing makes me feel more like a helpless little girl than car trouble, but the instructions were clear and setup was super easy, even for me. It comes with a little mini set of jumper cables that plug right into the unit, so you don’t have to depend on the kindness of strangers, which anyone who has ever seen an episode of Dateline can tell you isn’t a great idea on a poorly lit back country road. It does a little safety check when you first connect it to be sure you have the terminals set up correctly and make sure that the battery actually needs charging, and will flash at you depending on the situation. I got the green light right away and hopped in to try it. The car started up immediately and got me where I needed to go and back home with no issues! This also has a flood light and a red “help” light that flashes ‘SOS’ in Morse code, two standard USB charging ports, and can be used as an air compressor to inflate multiple different tires, balls, air mattresses, etc. and comes with tips for each. It also comes with a wall charger and a car charger for all your different needs. Right out of the box it was at about 60% charged. I plugged it in and after about 20-30 minutes, it was at 78%. The instructions do say it may take up to 9 hours to fully charge (I assume from 0%) and it needs to be at least at 50% charge in order to jump start your car, which is good to know. It is compact enough to keep it stored in the vehicle without it being too cumbersome, but I also got a case for it which has storage space for all the extra cords and cables, to keep everything together. This is my second Bolt Air and I cannot tell you how much I love these things (be sure to check out their PRO versions for USB-C Power Delivery capabilities). As an automotive tech for over 20 years, this is an amazing little Jumpbox for one, but to include an air pump that works this well is amazing. Ease of use is so simplistic it would be hard to get anything wrong. Build quality is solid. No complaints and it is actually a beautiful finish, with varying options which is cool. Both the carbon fiber and the silver look great. The battery in these things is insane (the first one I got, though this is identical). It lasts forever. I just had to jump my 2010 Charger after the battery died running errands across town. I am so confident in this jump-box that I jumped the car to finish running the 2 more errands, stopping each time, go home, find a store that had a replacement battery in stock, drive to the store, buy the battery, drive back home and swap it out. Yes I jumped my Charger with this box like 6 times that day alone, and the battery is currently sitting at 96%. I have not charged this thing in over 4 months. Hence this second purchase, which is going in our new car. I will be buying a third for my motorcycles very soon. The peace of mind this offers is incredible. Nothing worse than pulling over, swapping out a flat tire to a spare tire that is also flat... this thing would have you covered. Car battery died, AND your phone is dead... covered.
