Bought as for my wife and she absolutely loved it. She uses it a lot so definitely worth the money. Not to loud, no problems with any leaking out. Different speeds and holds a decent amount of food. Fairly easy to clean as long as you clean after using it. Read more
I bought this blender back in October 2019 , and since then it has served me well. Let me also say at that tie the blender with food processor combination was (at that time) ~40 USD so truly a great value for the money, although I see today that price has increased dramatically. I will go through the features below. If you don't want to read my full review in summary I would say this machine is great for your first apartment where space is limited , or alternatively for people who really need a blender (personal or standard size) and only occasionally need the additional attachments. I would have liked to see this product built into a "kitchen system" with more attachments that I could buy later or add on (Larger bowl , dough hook attachment, juicer). The motor is more than capable of doing much more but the accessories and lack of speed control limit it's functionality when you want to create more complex dishes or need. My advise to you is this - If you are considering this machine over all of the other ones out there I assume it is because you want more functionality than a traditional blender , if that's true and it turns out you actually need more than just a blender there are other Kitchen systems that might serve you better in the long run (Ninja for example). However if you have a small apartment (or are just cooking for 1~2 people) and don't need something fancy then this might be a good option --Motor: *The good: Strong Small (Compact) *The bad: Plastic drive for connection to all accessories Only two speeds (2 Speeds + 2 Of the same speed in "pulse" mode) Which makes for 4 total buttons --Large Glass blender *The Good: Large (Standard) capacity Made from glass Powerful enough to chop ice with a little liquid *The Bad: Lid is very difficult to remove once sealed (As others have noted) You cannot clean it without removing the blade --Personal Blender: *The Good : Perfect size for smoothies and smaller blending needs Powerful The mouthpiece opening is very ergonomic and there is no spilling unlike other "flap style" mouth pieces. It is designed to be slightly inserted into your mouth which means you can take a sip and re-close it without excess smoothie in the lid basin. *The Bad: The travel lid uses a friction fit closure and silicone ring to seal the mouth piece , Over time I think the friction fit will wear out which you'd need to buy a new lid, I'd like to see a "Screw top" lid something like the "Takeya" water bottles have. The measurement markings are printed instead of molded into the cup , which can cause them to fade over time. In my case I don't have a dishwasher and therefore only hand wash in a few short months of ownership I have seen the markings begin to fade way. I suspect if you use a high powered dishwasher it will be more severe. There is no "Lip protection ring" in case you want to drink directly from the cup without the lid attachment. The edges are not sharp but it is not very comfortable unless you add the cover. --Food Processor: *The good: Can easily process 1 regular can of beans for Hummus Has a measuring cup integrated into the "pusher" and the markings are "embossed" or molded into the plastic. *The Bad: I do not like the "drive" contraption which delivers power from the motor to the blade . It is very large , difficult to clean and has a small rubber seal at the top which I suspect is not dishwasher safe and will likely ear over time. There are already Food processors with blades that are screwed to the bottom , I would have liked to see this kind of design. There is no scraper attachment for the sides of the bowl, so you will need to manually open and scrape. At this price point you truly cannot complain however it should be noted. The blade has a very smooth sides which makes hand washing very tricky, it would have been better to make this square shape and it could also help move the food around as there is no bowl scraper. The "Pusher" attachment does not reach the bottom of the bowl , So when it is in Food Processor mode it really only acts as a cover. The bowl is small - truly this is going to be something that you can use to prep a small amount of food at a time, like 1 can of beans for hummus, 2 medium onions , 1.5 cans of black beans (smaller than chick peas) Very loud, Much louder than either of the blender accessories Need to pre-chop some veggies to fit in the chute (No full size russet potatoes fitting in here, you need to chop in half first) No dough making blade --Food Shredder: *The good: Shreds, cooked meat, cheese, veggies no problem Pusher meets the cutting blade (unlike food processor mode) *The Bad: Only one size cuts No "Spiralizer" function Gaps on the side which allows food to fall to the bowl. Uses the same "drive" contraption as the food processor --Food Slicer: *The Good: Slices food as intended *The Bad: Only one size slices Same me issues with the Food processor + below Food can become stuck in the blade Read more
I waited several weeks for this blender to arrive, listed at a fantastic price, and I was so excited! I had recipes ready, smoothies on deck, and my 9-year-old was practically dreaming of his long-awaited smoothie. The shipping was delayed several times, but we stayed hopeful. When it finally arrived, life got busy, and it sat in the box for a while. When I finally had a moment, we were so eager to use it that I skipped checking if it actually worked. Big mistake. We threw our smoothie ingredients into the blender, hit the button… and then nothing. Absolutely nothing. We tried different outlets, moved it around the house like a game of musical plugs—still nothing. Maybe the blender attachment was the problem? We swapped it out for the food processor, but nope, still as silent as my hopes for a smoothie. The disappointment in my 9-year-old’s eyes still haunts me. He had been waiting weeks for a smoothie, but all we had after our move was an immersion blender and another Hamilton Beach food processor with a missing blade—because, of course, the replacement blade costs almost as much as a new machine. In the end, we returned this blender, went to a thrift store, and bought a trusty, second-hand model. I’m convinced older appliances are built to outlast modern ones. Buyer beware—this one may not even outlast the return window! Capitalism at its finest, I suppose. Read more
Been using it over a year with no issues. I mainly use this for eggs. Yes, 12-18 eggs, cup of cottage cheese, blended for a weeks worth of the best scrambled eggs. I have also thrown in spinach and onion if I dont want to cook it before hand in the pan. I have used the blender a few times for smoothies or frozen coffee drinks. Works fine for my needs. Have also used the shredder attachment for cheese and veggies. No complaints. Easy to clean, have never had it leak. The glass pitcher is a bit heavy. But I prefer glass to plastic. Read more
I recently upgraded to this blender with a larger capacity jar and a convenient food processor attachment. The glass jar is sturdy and includes measuring lines for easy liquid measurements. Cleaning is a breeze as the blades are detachable. The processor worked well for my basic needs and was simple to set up and clean. One minor downside is the difficulty in putting on and taking off the lid, although this ensures a tight seal. While it may be challenging for some, I appreciate the leak-proof design. Overall, I am highly satisfied with this product, especially considering its affordable price point. Highly recommend! Read more
