We had to replace our very old crockpot when the knob broke off. That one had an autoshift mode that made day long cooking a breeze. This goes beyond that with the thermometer. We tried a 6 lb turkey breast with the probe and it worked perfectly. It went to warm once it was done. No work required other than take it out and eat it. It was easy to use and cleanup. It has other features for timed cooking as well. This a larger unit. It's perfect for chili and many other items. The lid look is a nice feature when transporting it and simply to keep it tightly closed when cooking. The lift out crock makes cleanup easy. We were nervous that this would not perform like our 30 year old crock pot but this blew it away. Read more

The media could not be loaded. My first time use this Hamilton Beach 6 QT slow cooker was to make gelatin, which is collagen peptides, for its amazing healing property. I set the slow cooker on Slow Setting for 8 hours. After 8 hours it was not quite ready. I added another 2 hours. It finally ready after 10 hours. I added the gelatin in sausage potato soup, millet porridge and seaweed soup, etc. The second time I used it to make BBQ pork on Slow Setting for 6 hours. The pork turned out to be very succulent, tender, not too sweet, but flavorful because the BBQ sauce mixed with pork gelatin. I haven’t tried the defrost function yet. This slow cooker inner pot is not too big nor too small, which fits right in the small sink and very easy to clean. The touch buttons and setting are user friendly once you read the instructions. The outer casing and the inner pot both are relatively light weight. Locked lid feature is great during cooking to lock in the flavor and avoided leaking during transport. Overall, I’m very happy with this slow cooker. Read more

Simple to use with electronic control panel. Takes a few minutes to heat up, even on high. Otherwise works well with even cooking and cooking within appropriate timeframe. Love the locking lid. Easy to transport now, fewer spills. Easy to clean. Haven’t used probe yet but is definitely an advantage I plan to use in the future. Read more

I've used this several times now. It works great. Its my second one and is a newer model than my old one. I still have my old one and it works great but after my husband dropped it, the electric display doesn't work right so you can't really tell the exact time that is programmed in the old one and that's thw only reason I got a new one (my old one is 10 years old). I love my new one and that im able to program it and walk away and know it will kick down to a warm setting after cooking. I do think it runs hotter than my old one but have not had any issues with it affecting the cooking. Love that I can lock the lid down for traveling with no spills. Read more

Ok, I'll get the bad news out of the way first: the keypad/button entry section on the slow cooker does not seem to stick to the unit properly. I'm not sure if it's the adhesive that can't handle being that close to the heating element, incorrect size, or a combination, but whenever I'm using the slow cooker it will warp to where it does not lie flat on the unit's surface. The buttons still work, and I can push the pad back down into place (sort of), but I can definitely see that feature being a deal breaker for some people. Good news: this is a well-functioning slow cooker with some smart features. I have been using slow cookers for a long time (a habit I developed from my mother, who cooked just about everything in a slow cooker). I like the programmable features to set the amount of time/level of heat to cook (since both my husband and I work long hours and neither one of us is home to babysit the slow cooker). One of my favorite features on this slow cooker that was missing from our previous one is the thermometer probe. The probe is really easy to use- stick the pointy end in the meat through the designated hole in the lid, plug the other end into the hole on the side marked for "probe jack", and program the slow cooker to the correct temperature- for example, 165*F for chicken. That's it. Once the meat reaches the desired temperature, the slow cooker will switch to "warm" and leave you with a perfectly cooked meal, instead of some dry, poor excuse for chicken jerky. Though I have not used this feature yet, I do like the fact that I could take a cooked meal on the go in this slow cooker and not worry as much about it spilling because of the clips on the side to secure the lid. Also, the cord wraps neatly underneath the unit for storage. If you're looking for a reliable slow cooker with useful features (and can overlook one annoying flaw, the warp-y button pad), I recommend this slow cooker. Read more

Had to retire my 15 + yr old Hamilton Beach slow cooker. It served us well, it was still working but the control button covers were worn away. I wanted something similar and stuck with what I knew, Hamilton Beach. This one has all of the features my old one did, temperature probe, high low settings, optional manual timing with half hours, stays on warm when done, lid lock, etc… an added bonus on this one is the defrost feature before cooking which I believe automatically starts cooking after defrosting (I haven’t used it yet). My old one was a little larger which isn’t a big issue, 6 quarts is plenty big. Good value for the money. Read more

I liked the sturdiness of this crockpot. The roast I cooked was so soft. I can cut the mest with a fork. The candy I made was easy. Melt and mix ingredients right in the pot. Read more

Received the product on time. It’s a little smaller than I thought, however it’s perfect for two people meals. 4 to 5 lbs of meat or other vegetables. The lock down handles work well and I enjoy this feature. I like how I can set the setting and then put in the number of hours I want or I can set the finish temperature and use the attached probe. That is a game changer. I recently used the probe function on a pork loin roast and set it to 145f. When the roast reached that temperature, system goes to warm or hold temperature. Excellent performance. Read more
