Received these Harmonix SonaVue Smart Glasses a few days ago, and they’ve quietly slipped into my daily routine in a good way. The open-ear sound is clear enough for my morning walks around the neighborhood, and I like that I can still hear cars and my neighbor saying hi while listening to a podcast. The photochromic lenses are handy moving from my desk to the backyard, so I don’t have to swap between regular glasses and sunglasses. I got the sunglasses and were very happy with the look and feel of them. Once you get used to working the buttons and sliders on the glasses when you have them on, they are easy to use and work well. And after pairing the first time, the glasses will conveniently auto connect to your phone as soon as you turn them on. The audio quality is excellent for speech, like phone calls or listening to podcasts. It is acceptable for music. There is not a lot of bass but I could compensate a bit by adjusting the equalizer on my phone. I wish it had more volume too. Turned up all the way, the volume is acceptable but there are times I wish I could turn it louder. One feature that's not advertised in the description is the translation option. I was excited to try this when I saw the pamphlet in the package. I downloaded the "AIP" app and registered. I have a friend that speaks both German and French and we tested it. It was a disappointment. Even if she spoke directly into the phone when there was no background noise, it would not pick up everything she said. And oddly enough, it sometimes misunderstood what language she was speaking. For example, even though I had it set to translate from German into English, she would say something in German and it would think she was speaking English and try to translate into German. This happened a number of times and I verified that the language settings were correct. But I think these problems are with the software and their app, and could be fixed with updates. I am truly amazed at the sound quality of these smart glasses. The open-ear audio is surprisingly clear and loud without leaking sound too badly to everyone around me. I can hear music, videos, and calls very well, even while walking around or doing everyday tasks, and I still stay aware of my surroundings, which I really like. I was on a call while shoveling snow. The lenses are another huge plus. The photochromatic feature works great, adjusting nicely when I go outside, and the blue light blocking is a big bonus since I spend a lot of time on my phone and computer. They are comfortable to wear for long periods and don’t feel heavy on my face at all. Call quality is top notch. Every call I’ve made has been crystal clear, and people on the other end tell me they can hear me perfectly, almost like I’m sitting right next to them. No complaints about muffled sound or background noise, which really impressed me. Overall, these smart glasses exceeded my expectations. These glasses are a really great idea. I can easily hear my music or phone conversations, without feeling like there is something stuck in my ears or about to fall out. I am able to hear people talking to me or other sounds without having to remove them or turn them down, due to the fact that they are not in my ears. They charge by sticking the charging cords to each of the side arms - they stick by a magnet so there is nothing to plug in. The charging cord was confusing at first because it looked different than any other charging cord I have. I then realized that a typical USB-C charge cord plugs into the supplied charging cord. No problem, just confusing at first. Initial Bluetooth pairing went quickly and easily. Overall, I really like the sound quality and ease of use and am very happy with these glasses. Read more
