Very good razor but you'll need a new handle

Harry's Plus is a very good razor. I've been using Harry's for a couple of years and Plus is an improvement. The blades last longer and are sharper. I have some neck hairs that the previous razors I've tried could not cut, but the Plus blades can. I just have one question. The company prides itself on providing good blades at a reasonable cost. Why then, do the Plus blades require a new handle? And at a cost of about $10. Why not have the new blades fit the old handle? If you buy the Plus blades you'll need to buy the new handle too.
