We have raised mini dachshunds for 17 years. Finding the correct size chew for your pup is essential. This size works perfect for our dogs. When the center is gone and they usually bury it in the couch, we throw them away and give them new, hence we buy a package of 6 or 9. If we have a larger dachshund we move up a size. Being a responsible pet owner with anything your dog chews on is essential. These chews have never harmed any of our dogs or pups. I use this for a chihuahua who has liver disease. He can't have much protein so this is the perfect size for him to have a treat that is chewy and helps with tarter on his teeth. He loves it and keeps him busy for a long time. He has several stashed in different places in the house and goes to them when he is bored. I also have a papillon who won't use them at all.
