Both of my parents and both of my maternal grandparents have had skin cancer at least once, so sunscreen is an absolute must for me. I also have sensory processing issues and can't stand sunscreens that smell artificial and/or leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy. Finally, my skin is super sensitive, so I need a sunscreen that I can apply daily without causing a reaction. I've tried literally hundreds of different sunscreens at all different price points, but because of my rigid list of requirements, I've usually ended up spending a fortune on sensitive-skin-formulated face moisturizers with SPF and using them on all my exposed skin in place of normal sunscreen, because they've been the only options I've found that check every box. Enter Hawaiian Tropic sport sunscreen. Sure, it doesn't absorb into my skin quite as thoroughly as my favorite SPF moisturizer, but it's also less than 1/6th the price for 8x the quantity. It also has a nice scent that doesn't give me a headache (no overtly chemical smell), only barely leaves my skin feeling greasy, and doesn't cause any irritation with daily application. I was trying to find an SPF 30 sunscreen that smells nice since I'm at work and go on a walk at lunchtime. This sunscreen smells like coconuts and never makes me smell like sunscreen! I will definitely keep buying it when I run out! I haven't gotten a sunburn with it on either. It smells good and does the job! Read more

The Hawaiian tropic sport sunscreen worked pretty well for me but not perfect. It worked great on my face and arms that were in the sunlight for a partial amount of time. I noticed on my shoulders, which were in the sun constantly, it didn't provide the kind of protection that I needed which usually I'm usually able to get from a 30 SPF sunscreen. I feel like this sunscreen worked best for me on areas that were only going to be partially exposed and not in the sun the entire day. I will still continue to use it but will only use it when I'm going to be in the pool for a short amount of time. Also, I had the best results with this sunscreen when I let it dry about 10 minutes before getting into the water. In my opinion I think the smell of this sunscreen could be a little bit stronger too, and I found it a little bit weak. I prefer to still smell like sunscreen after putting it on and I barely smell like sunscreen after using it. I also didn't notice anything that would classify this sun lotion as a "sport" sun lotion. Been using this for years. I was a bit worried about the apparent re-formulation. Especially after reading some reviews, stating it was 'like Crisco' or it had a chemical smell. It does NOT. It gets absorbed into the skin (at least my skin) shockingly fast. I usually keep applying it til it stops getting absorbed! Performance is great! There is virtually no greasy feel to it at all. Great for the face. I have problems with most sunscreens irritating my face. This is the only product I have used that does not irritate. But the new reef friendly formula looks, feels, smells just like the old formula. Performs the same as well. Being an avid sailor, I have used virtually every brand. I keep coming back to this one. Exactly what I wanted. It rubs in good, smells like coconut, and you don't have to put on a ton to protect you from the sun. As someone who works outdoors and is bald, taking the 20 extra seconds to apply sunscreen is worth not damaging my skin. My grandfather died of skin cancer, and I have a ton of moles from burning as a kid, so please, if you have kids, make sure they wear sunblock. Read more

This is the BEST Sunscreen I have ever used. It does a great coverage, easy to apply, leaves my skin soft and above all does NOT have an overly heavy smell. I apply 30 - 45 minutes before work and it truly does last all day plus!! I sweat all day long at my job and have NEVER had the sunscreen pick up with my sweat and drip into my eyes...so A++ in my books! Read more
