Per the wife, who is pretty happy with this item: over 20 or so years ago my doctor gave me samples of this stuff because my eye symptoms from my allergies sucked so bad during my golfing. It was like liquid crack for my eyes (which I guess would be another drug entirely) and it worked. So. Good! No side effects! No random crying during my golf game with the guys that wasn't really crying!!! However, when I tried to get a prescription filled, the insurance company was so whiny about it and wouldn't cover ANY of the cost because the script didn't come from an allergist. But would they cover me going to an allergist, even with primary doctor's written blessing? NO! they would not!! Real crying ensued, along with phone calls and hate mail, but to no avail. My doctor gave me as many samples as possible and I started on another eye drop, which worked okay, but was of no comparison. A couple of decades later, the patent's time limit is up, or whatever joyus thing happens to drugs when they can finally go OTC. I had been, in the meantime, using other eye drops, whose formulations had been improving over time but never quite as good as what the ole' Pat-a-day was for my "allergy eyes". And while it may seem expensive to some, it is a whole lot cheaper than the $100+/bottle I was going to have to pay on my insurance years ago. And guess what? It still blows away anything that Alloway or any of the other drops can do for my symptoms. I'm sure the market for this stuff, and it's many formulations, will settle down eventually and the prices will go down some more, but the day I needed this, the Unicorn blood of allergy eye drops, this was the best deal. May it be so and ever shall be. Read more
After much research, these eye drops are highly affective and the soothing feeling lasts a very long time. I had ocular rosacea and found out I was steroid resistant so I found these very effective drops to relieve my itching. Read more
