I selected this version because of the convenient storage box. (Similiar in size to a series 3600 tackle box : 11" x 7" ). I have several boxes that hold odds & ends, stacked on my workbench. The new box fits perfectly. (Also would fit in any tool / tackle bag that has space for series 3600 boxes) As heat guns go, it does the job. Heats up rapidly. I used it to repair two items, where the thin insulation cracked open, near the jack. ... superior to electrical tape. Yes, the flip down stand keeps the hot end from damaging the worktable. For the price I think is not a bad product, but I just found out today because I was using it for a bit longer then normally like 3 mins ish this thing will start to melt itself, first there was the plastic smell I’m not sure where it come from then I notice the center of the heat gun the metal part shift it. Then I found out it was the gun itself is melting….. it still works but definitely don’t use it for too long or I’m sure this heat gun will and is going to melt itself. Read more
