This heated mask is rechargeable and it is a big plus that I don't need to have it plugged in while using--not like my old one. I love the low, medium, high heat options and the customizable time options. It is soft and the strap is adjustable. Two minor complaints: I find it needs to be charged after every 2-3 uses of 20 minutes or more. Also, I would love an additional cover so that I can have one in the wash while using the other. For several years now I have used disposable heated eye masks to address the symptoms of dry eye. I had seen non-disposable alternatives that could be microwaved, but I don't have a microwave. I was so excited to see this one that I ordered it right away and I'm so glad that I did. I actually like this better than the disposable ones I was using previously. There is a slight weight to it, but it is not heavy - kind of like a weighted blanket for your eyes. It has multiple heat settings to choose from and also a timer to control the length of time you want it to be warm for. In addition to dry eye, I also suffer from insomnia, and I find that applying a heated eye mask helps me to relax and fall asleep easier. Because I like to fall asleep with this on, I love that this is cordless. I set my mask to medium heat for 30 minutes and I'm usually asleep before it turns off. With my previous disposable eye masks, I actually wore a sleeping eye mask over the top of the disposable to help it press more firmly against my eyes. I love that this one has an adjustable strap so that I can control the pressure on my eyes - I feel that the strap has a generous length if you prefer a looser fit. When I first opened the heated eye mask, I thought that the cover wasn't washable because the zipper to remove it is so well concealed, and the little cut out where the digital timer/heat adjustment box is incredibly flush with no gaps to expose the heated part under the removable cover. Once I found the zipper though, it was easy to remove the cover, launder it, and replace it. The stitching on the cover is very well done, both the stitching and the material of the cover have held up well through many washes now. There was no odor or smell to any part of the unit when I opened it. I've been using this heated eye mask every night for just over a month now and I'm so pleased with it. I've only had to charge it two or three times, so it has very good battery life. I would highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from eye strain, dry eye, or just wants some soothing warmth to help them sleep. Read more

I really liked this mask at first and used it twice/day every day... for 10 months... I like the washable cover and the fact that where it fastens behind my head isn't too bulky to lay on. At about 8 months, it could no longer hold a charge for the full 30 minutes. Even though I kept it fully charged when not in use, I was lucky if it stayed on for 20 minutes. Now, it won't even come on without being plugged in. Since the cord is only 4 inches long, using it plugged in is not an option. When unplugged, it won't even stay on for 5 minutes. This eye mask works really well for me. I was getting headaches from constantly staring at my computer screen from work and it was so helpful to use a heated eye mask for spurts of 15-20 minutes 2-3 times during the work day. The material is a harder silk material, making it more durable. I like that the material doesn't snag very easily like regular silk would but it still feels like it. When it sits on the face, the mask feels really comfy and the slight pressure from the weight helps as well. The size of the eye mask covers a good 1/2 of my face and the heat sits where it should, directly over the eyes and around your orbital bones. There are 4 heat and timer settings ranging from 15-60 minutes. It warms up within a minute and the cordless design makes it convenient to keep by the desk. I do have to charge it for an hour every 3-4 days if I am using it 2-3 times a day. I like that you are able to wash it. FYI, I handwash the material in cold water and there is no color leakage. I have an eye condition called blepharitis (clogged oil glands at base of eyelid), requiring eye scrubs and warm compresses. I haven't had any luck finding a way to keep the heat on my eyes more than a few moments. Enter this heated eye mask, which does it all - it's dry (yay, no more wet facecloths), administers a steady heat, and is very soft to the touch.
