This car phone holder feels well made with nice metal construction, and I like that it adjusts easily to different angles. The one thing I didn’t realize is that the magnet won’t hold my iPhone through a regular silicone case at all, so to use it I’d have to take my phone out of the case, which makes me nervous about drops or damage. It seems like you’d need a special magnetic phone case for this to work properly or attach the magnetic sticker which seems awkward to me. I'm using this for my Android phone. I do have the right phone case to have it hang on properly because I also use a wireless charger as well, so between either item, the holder or the charger, and the case it holds on firmly. This holder locks down on your car dash, but it's not stuck there permanently, so it can easily be removed and changed to a different spot. You can put it in an area of your vehicle based on whether you're using it for directions or for recording like a dash cam. I have only used it for my phone, personally, so whether you could use it for another device, I'm not sure, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. It's very versatile in how you can have it pointed since it has 360-degree rotation. I previously had a super cheap holder that went in my car's cupholder. It worked fine for what it was, but it seems to have gotten looser over the years, so now sometimes it flops over, and my phone falls over. This one holds my phone firmly, and it can be placed in whatever location I need it to be in. It's also very substantial feeling, so it's sturdy in its construction as well.
