The rating started at a 5. My dog (1/2 shepherd) absolutely loved it. The thik felt seemed perfect for her herd-nipping. But she was able to somehow puncture the inflatable ball without puncturing the felt. So I bought a sturdier yoga ball. She punctured that too. So I stiffed the felt ball without foam. 2 weeks of fun, but then she found a way to test the heavy duty felt. I’d recommend for dogs that don’t chew or tug. Other options. Muzzle your dog. The media could not be loaded. My dog loves herding balls - nearly to obsession. However, he always finds the handle, the strap, or a loop which he then uses to yank, chew, hold until the fabric gives way, and the ball becomes exposed (and yes, popped). Additionally, this ball has a heavy felt cover, not canvas, so no threading when it does get poked or torn. This ball has no handles or straps, it does have seams he could grab, but he doesn't (yet anyway), so he spent far more time actually herding it around. I'm guessing the fabric isn't as palatable for him to grab either, being felt. It comes with the felt cover, the interior ball, replacement plug, plug remover, foot pump (do yourself a favor - use an electric pump), and felting needles and thread for repairs of the cover.
