My hair usually grows pretty quick.. BUT the beginning of 2017 I cut it super short & for about 4 months it was the same length ! It had not grown not one bit... I mixed this with some coconut oil and castor oil.. and a little went a LONG WAY. Within a month my hair had passed my shoulders. This works well as a deep conditioner when mixed with coconut oil. However, smells STRONG, even after adding essential oils to the mix. Requires a couple of washes to remove all residue. I would use it more if the smell didn't put me off. Read more
Love this stuff, and I think it must be very healthy. After living in mold for several years, I developed a "rough" feeling scalp which my mold doctors know is a common development for mold patients. (Dermatologists could not even determine anything was wrong.) Nothing helped much, not supplements, nor aloe vera, tea tree oil, toxic prescription shampoos, etc. But this did! I'm African American with natural 4a hair i use this with cassia obovata along with sweet almond oil coconut oil and green tea extract. I use it once a month it's absolutely amazing. My hair grown and is much much stronger I've been using this concoction for about 4 months. I had hennaed my hair about a month ago and it loosened my curls more than I liked so I purchased this Amla. Made a paste with this Amla, coconut oil, honey and some water to thin it a little and applied to damp hair I had just washed with a rhassoul clay/acv/water mixture. Left it on for 1 hour under a shower cap. My curls definitely have their sproing back. This powder seems fresh, packing date on the box says 2/14 and it mixed well with no clumps. Dyed my hair w fire orange henna, it was beautiful. Used this three days later for conditioning and curl redefinition, but when I shampooed it out, now I'm a brunette. Not happy. Will not use again.
