When my brother-in-law told me about these gloves, I sneered and responded that he lives on the East Coast and not in the desert in Northern Tucson. I have spent a fortune on gloves but since everything here has thorns, I used to figure that for every hour I spent working in the desert, I'd spent 20 minutes pulling thorns out of my body. So he sent me a pair, and I've been apologizing and thanking him ever since. The bane of our existence out here in the desert isn't rattlesnakes or coyotes or scorpions, it's a plant called "jumping Cholla" that has hooked thorns that are quite painful to remove. Nothing gets through the palms of these gloves, although you have to be careful because it's only the Palms that are thorn resistant. I can literally pick up any cactus and avoid having to spend hours with a tweezer pulling out the thorns. They are expensive, and I've already gone through one pair, but if you work with any plants that are out to get you, these are an indispensable defense. Read more

I liked that there was a size for small hands. I like that it has a palm area for handling cactus or sharp thorns. However, between the fingers and top is vulnerable. I had fine cactus needles embedded in between my fingers that went thru the gloves. Ouch! I did write to the seller and explained the design and how it could be improved. Otherwise a very strong glove. The price was up there too. I ended up requesting a refund as it did not serve its purpose and was no longer usable after all the fine cactus needles were embedded in the fingers portion of the glove that could not be removed. I might have a supercactus because these are not puncture proof. They do help. They are maybe 70% effective *with care* and attention to cactus needles. I read after moving this spiny bugger that you could use stryrofoam blocks to protect yourself and maybe everyone else knew this except for me, but I think these gloves are just one part of cactus injury prevention and if you used them with styrofoam blocks and bubble wrap and towels maybe you'd be okay. Not the best for handling heavy bush or rose thorns but feel great and are very flexible. Good quality work glove and fits well with the strap. Good protection for moderate gardening and durable when wet. Read more

Very stiff. Previous pair has so many spines that penetrate to the skin had to throw them away! Too expensive to return. Read more
