Looks good, works great, and an easy install. Read more
I'm sure this is a quality product and the manufacturer offers lifetime replacement warranty, so for that, I rated high. It was an easy item to install item and I love the lifetime warranty. However, for my tank, this didn't work out. I had to bend the arm, as directions suggested, but could not get it to correct point of flushing completely without having to push handle twice and then hold down for a second or two. And then the handle would not return to position on its own. Finally, after about 10 flushes, I had to try to readjust the lever arm and the metal broke at the closest hole to handle. Now I have another broken flush handle and will need to get another replacement (hoping to find one that works for my American Standard toilet.) I would recommend this if you know your tank and shape of lever arm being replaced. OR just keep in mind when bending the metal, it can break. Read more
Needed a replacement side-mount flush lever for a 15+ year old American Standard toilet tank. The old one had rusted a lot. The only ones the big box stores had were either front-mount or plastic. (And their plastic ones were more expensive than this.) This Hibbent lever seems to be sturdy; I had to bend it a bit in a few directions (as per the instructions) to get it to fit into the needed position, and the metal (brass) felt pretty high-quality. It's only been in place so far for less than a day, but so far - so good. And Amazon's overnight delivery was better / faster than going to the store myself. Fair price, good quality; recommended. This was my FIRST time replacing the toilet handle. I am not a plumber! At all. When I first pulled the handle out of the box, I unscrewed the nuts on the right hand side and went to place it into the hole in the tank. The little white plastic square on the handle was too large on the left of the tank. Therefore, I had to take a nail file and file down around all four corners to get the square to fit into the porcelain tank hole. That nearly took me 45 minutes because I wanted to make sure that it was not too small so I kept analyzing it and slowly filing it. After that task was completed, I attempted to hook the chain up from the flapper to the metal bar. The metal bar had to be bent which is also not an easy task. I ended up having a friend come over and we played with it for nearly an hour before we got the flush just right. I'm not so sure that this handle is universal. Although, if you have some ingenuity, you can make it work. It does seem to be of good quality thus far. I have attached pictures to try and help anybody that went through the same issues that I did and I'm showing the way that I bent the metal rod. Maybe next time I'll actually call a plumber! 🫣 🙄😬 Although, time is worth money, so is learning something new! Now I know how to put on a toilet handle or so I think I do! 😂 Read more
